Indonesia’s Health Ministry, Angkasa Pura II, and Traveloka Recommence “Vaccination at Airport” for Second Dose at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

Jakarta, 9 August 2021 - In a bid to resume the joint commitment to supporting the government’s efforts in accelerating the vaccine distribution to reach herd immunity, ‘Vaccination at Airport’ service, initiated by the Health Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, Port Health Authority-Health Ministry (KKP), PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), and Traveloka, officially operates the second dose of vaccine on August 9 to 22, 2021. Took place at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, Banten, the Vaccination at Airport opens from 08.00 to 17.00. Targeting to serve up to 1,000 recipients per day, the service is free of charge for the general public, starting from people aged 18 and above including the elderly who have previously received the first dose of vaccination.

The Vaccination at Airport for the second dose is also supported by the Tourism and Creative Economic Minister of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Uno, who visits the vaccination center on the first day of operation. During his visit, Traveloka also expresses appreciation to the medical workers who are on duty during the Vaccination at Airport period, for their dedication to be in the frontline providing health service to the society, including vaccination. For the medical workers, Traveloka grants a certain amount of coupons that can be utilized to enjoy Hotel and Eats (culinary) products available on its platform. The initiative also aims to support the operational sustainability of Traveloka partners, especially those that are in the tourism sector and affected by the pandemic.

Sandiaga Uno, Tourism and Economic Creative Minister, said in his speech “I highly appreciate the collaboration among Traveloka, the Health Ministry and PT Angkasa Pura (II) for their contribution to the success of the national vaccination program. When all elements of the nation work together in the principles of Geber, Gercep, and Gaspol, I believe that we will be able to survive and win against the pandemic. The Tourism and Economic Ministry also supports the national vaccination program and up to last week, there are more than 160,000 members of the public that have received vaccinations through vaccination centers held in collaboration with the Ministry. We aim to inoculate 450,000 people by September 2021, hopefully we can see the increasing numbers of vaccination recipients until December 2021.”

Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Health Minister of the Republic of Indonesia said “Indonesia has a tremendous capital which is a sense of togetherness to help each other. The collaboration spirit with various parties is really important during the pandemic to help Indonesia recover. I am thankful for all the elements of the society that have supported the acceleration of the national vaccination program as part of vital strategies to lower the transmission rate of COVID-19. I hope that the collaboration forged in the Vaccination at Airport service for the second dose can run smoothly and benefit everyone.”

Muhammad Awaluddin, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II, said “We welcome collaboration with any party to provide the Vaccination at Airport service, which is not only available for the general public, but also accomodating to the needs of airlines’ passengers. To date, our data recorded 64,000 of prospective aircraft passengers have received vaccinations at 18 airports managed by AP II. Meanwhile, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is known as the airport that records the highest number of prospective passengers who receive vaccinations, which is around 40,000 people. We have high hopes that these initiatives can significantly bolster the acceleration of the national vaccination program.

In a bid to give extra protection and help people maintain their immune system, Traveloka also gives free healthy kits comprising a full package of multi-vitamins (B complex, C, D, E, and Zinc), mask, and hand sanitizer for the first 1,000 recipients. Traveloka also provides a discount worth IDR100,000 for Car Rental service that can be utilized by potential vaccine recipients to help their mobility, both to the vaccination locations or vice versa.
