Buddha Air Pvt. Ltd (IATA code: U4) is a private airline from Nepal. It is the largest airline in the country in terms of the number of passengers it carries for domestic flights in 2023. Buddha Air provides both domestic and international flight services. For international flight routes, the airline only serves flights to and from India, especially Varanasi. Previously, the airline also had flights to Bhutan and several other cities in India. However, these routes have stopped and only one international flight to Varanasi remains. The main airport where Buddha Air operates is Tribhuvan International Airport located in Kathmandu City, Nepal.
Economy Class
Buddha Air only offers economy class for all flights, both domestic and international. There are several types of ticket prices, each offering its own benefits. When it comes to facilities and services, Buddha Air's economy class offers a full range of amenities that make flying more comfortable. The friendly service also makes passengers have a satisfying experience while flying. This includes comfortable leather seats with 30-31 inches (about 76-78 cm) of legroom.
Meals on Board
Meals are included in the economy class ticket. Food is served in the form of cold drinks for every flight. Snacks are served on the Nepalgunj, Bhadrapur and Dhangadi flight routes.
Royal Club
Buddha Air provides a program for its loyal passengers that allows passengers to collect points every time they use the airline's flight services. The points collected can be redeemed for various prizes and benefits. For example, Royal Club members have the opportunity to get free flights, vacation gifts and stays at luxury hotels or resorts, special services, as well as additional baggage allowances. There are three levels of membership, namely basic, Platinum and Diamond membership. Passengers with Platinum and Diamond levels will get greater benefits than the basic level membership. Passengers can register directly at Buddha Air ticket counters or travel agents to join the program.

Flight attendants wear a dark blue uniform with a blazer model that has an open part on the chest. For underwear, flight attendants wear polo shirts with white buttons on the chest. For bottoms, flight attendants have two types of uniforms, namely knee-length skirts and long pants. Both also use dark blue, the same color as the blazer. The flight attendants also wear the same hairstyle, which is a small bun with a dark blue/black butterfly-shaped ribbon at the back. This uniform looks simple but makes flight attendants look more charming. Plus, the sleek design makes flight attendants more comfortable when providing services to passengers.

Buddha Air was established on April 23, 1996, as a PT by Surendra Bahadur Basnet, a former chief justice and minister, and his son, Birendra Bahadur Basnet. The airline started operations on October 11, 1997 by providing scenic flights to Mount Everest. In 2001, the airline partnered with Drukair, Butan's national carrier, to provide international flights. Since then, Buddha Air has continued to grow and in 2008, the airline secured a loan from the International Finance Corporation to expand its business. 2020 was the year Buddha Air provided flights to rural areas. Then, in January 2021, Buddha Air established its subsidiary, Yashodhara Air and began operations in 2022.
