Infant Passenger Policy (0 - 2 Years)
- Infants less than 7 days old must carry a doctor's certificate stating that they are fit to fly.
- Infants up to 2 years old do not have to have their own seat.
- The ticket price for infant passengers up to 2 years old is 10% of the standard fare.
Child Passenger Policy
- Children aged 2 to 4 must have their own seat and be accompanied by an adult.
- Children from 5 to 11 years old are allowed to fly unaccompanied by booking Swiss International Airlines' Unaccompanied Minors Service.
Pregnant Passenger Policy
- Passengers with a final 36 weeks of pregnancy and without complications are allowed to fly provided a doctor's certificate is provided.
- Passengers with multiple pregnancies are only allowed to fly with a final gestational age limit of 32 weeks.
Disabled Passenger Policy
- Passengers with disabilities who require the assistance of flight crew must inform Swiss International Airlines of their condition when purchasing their tickets.
- Swiss International Airlines advises passengers with special needs to report to the check-in counter 90 minutes before the check-in deadline.

Swiss International Airlines History
Swiss International Airlines was founded after Swissair, the previous main airline of Switzerland, went bankrupt in 2001. Despite being accepted into the Oneworld alliance, Swiss International Airlines eventually decided not to join the global airline alliance anymore. This was announced after the airline had been in operation for 2 years, on June 3, 2004.
In 2005, the Lufthansa Group took over Swiss International Airlines and began using Airbus and Boeing aircraft in its fleet. The Swiss also negotiated their aircraft maintenance, labor and food services. On August 18, 2011, the airline introduced a new logo that resembles the Swissair logo.
