Great Southern Hotel Brisbane

Aircon was quite satisfactory.

Yes aircon kept room to the temperature we liked. Car parking was good and close to the lifts so very happy.

Neat, clean room. Downside - No light in bathroom Cool window. Easy access in and out.

Hotel is currently being renovated, no noise st night but there is during the day. Reception staff are nice, but you have to interact with them.

Noisy room, cars and people across the street.

The aircon was terrible. when I arrived on day one out of three I set the aircon for 17C as the temp indicator for the room showed 24.1c the air flow at max fan was minimal and after three days of continuous aircon the temp indication reduced to 21C. The breakfast was satisfactory. The initial booking indicated that there was a restaurant, however only breakfast was available. The saving grace was the central location.

Brief 2 night stay for work. I booked through Hotels.com so missed the memo apparently stated on the website that they are undergoing renovations. Works being done 6:30am - 5pm Mon -Sat. Waited 10mins to check in as no one at counter, tried using the check in kiosk but couldnt be completed, water dripping from exposed pipes in the roof, bed was really sucken on one side. Basic room amentities, spacious room and suitable bathroom. Hopefully the hotel is renovating to update otherwise it's a pretty old, outdated hotel that I wouldnt rate very highly but location was perfect for what I need so no complaints. Can't comment on food/dining as I didn't use the restaurant.

Being under renovation would not allow a higher grading.

The hotel is old despite having had some remodeling, and ongoing construction, however it was very quiet, clean, excellent location, great staff.

This hotel had all that we needed for a great price, room spacious and clean, great shower, comfortable beds, plenty of tea and coffee was provided and so quiet that we didn’t hear any noise from the street below. The staff were pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel advised us beforehand that there was building works on site but there was minimal noise and wasn’t a problem. Star Casino was just across the road, Neville Bonner Bridge, North Quay Ferry and Queen Street Mall were only minutes walk away. I definitely will stay there again.

Room was a good size and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good location. Currently under Reno’s etc but didn’t hear too much noise. Bed was just very hard and not comfortable

It’s was in good location and the room was large and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was lovely . My only complaint was the room had a strong stale cigarette smoke odour . Got better after the air con was on . Friendly staff . It was fine for what I needed

Well located hotel close to casino and botanic gardens. Comfortable room. Some noise during daytime from current renovations.

The room was clean and staff wrte friendly and helpful

Amenities were good the rooms were clean. The showerhead is way to big to be in a shower that size you were pressed up to the corner trying to get out of the water and the beds were rather uncomfortable

Cleaning of room way below expectations for a Brisabne city Hotel. Noise was really bad, car park was a disgrace, to charge for parking $30 extra. One staff member at counter needs to go back to Customer service school.
