The garden view room had the pleasant surprise of a family of kangaroos feeding in the afternoon. Saw many cockatoos and rosellas and heard kookaburras singing

The location is perfect central to shopping and restaurants. Set in beautiful surroundings. Layout of buildings very good but rooms need refurbishing especially bathrooms. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

This property is conveniently located and parallels the main street so it is a short walk to the Halls Gap shops but still nice and peaceful. It was a little small and quite dated, which was probably reflected in the price. It had everything we needed but we would likely choose somewhere different to stay next time we’re in Halls Gap just to give ourselves a bit more room to spread out as we had a few days of inclement weather so did spend more time indoors than we planned.

The motel is centrally located and handy to shops and walking trails. Our room had all of the standard accessories, soap, dish cloth, tissues, shampoo, conditioner and appeared clean from a quick glance but a closer inspection showed mould on the bathroom ceiling and cobwebs under the sink/vanity. The carpet at the entrance is very stained. The wifi works well. The TV was attached to the wall and on a strange angle. There was no bath mat and the towels were very thin. On the second day we requested a bath mat that was delivered after the manager inspected the room and was unable to locate one.The heating had a hard time keeping the room warm so the electric blankets were appreciated. The bathroom door does not shut as it jams before closing. The towel rails in the bathroom collapse when trying to hang your towel on them. The cereal bowel has a chip on the edge that appears very sharp. The bed was comfortable and appeared clean. I would advise against using the BBQ area as it was filthy and surrounded by rubbish. On our checkout day the water was shut off at 9am. There was no notification from management that this would happen. It resulted in the toilet no longer flushing and we were unable to fill our kettle for a morning coffee. I assume some guests may have been suprised mid shower. Overall, this is budget accommodation that is convenient to the shops and walks and requires renovations, maintenance and cleaning.

Heater on 30, only took the chill off the room. Electric blanket burnt out at the switch. Bathroom door would not close. Freezer completely iced up and unusable. Lights with blown globes.
Went to talk to them and closed at 10am Monday morning. Left a note and nobody has bothered to contact me.

They are very welcoming owners, but that is where it stops, unfortunately.
Very dated rooms.

Carpet and couches were disgusting
The bathroom has not been cleaned properly for a very long time! With thick dust that has been there for at least a couple of years.
Still old bars of soap on the top shower railing from previous guests
No ventilation, so mould on the windows and ceiling.
We only stayed one night, otherwise if we had booked longer, i would have cancelled.
Sorry for the bad review, but it's not to a standard a motel should be.

The room was very average at best. Old, tired and looked like it hadn't seen a bit of maintenance for years. The pictures on the web site must have been taken with filters because they didn't show the stains in the carpet or the absolute filth of the bathroom.
There was so much mould in the shower, and on the ceiling above it, that I don't think it has been cleaned for over 2 years.
Bed was uncomfortable and all the bedding
should have been replaced years ago, along with all the rest of the furniture in the room.
The outside appearance of the place is pretty poor, with not one bit of pride taken in what people would think when they arrive. You are greeted in the entrance by a metre or so plant in a pot that looks like it has been dead for a year or so. The grass is overgrown and the paved areas have more weeds than pavers.
Unfortunately I couldn't ever bring myself to recommend this place to anyone.

The motel is located right in town close to cafes, hotels and breweries.
It has a wonderful outlook over paddocks towards the hills. However the hotel is run down and in need of work. Our room was not ready for us an hour after the advertised time for registering.
Our bathroom was not cleaned properly - a used, wet face-washer and a half empty shampoo bottle was left in the shower. There was significant mould in the shower.
We requested a room service the second day of our stay but that was "missed" by the staff, who did provide replacement towels etc. when asked. To be fair the rest of our room was clean, spacious and well laid out. Cigarette buts near the front and rear doors of our room were not a good look.
Our room was quiet.

Generally clean. Bathroom mouldy. Bottom sheet didn't cover mattress. TV wonky and wouldn't straighten. Sliding flyscreen covered in cobwebs and outdoor areas messy. A simple tidy up on door and pathways would've made a difference to appearances.
On the positive, bed was comfortable, room was clean and tidy. Great location!!! Don't think we'll stay here again though.

The lodge has a comfy bed with a heated blanket and amazing views, as well as decent amenities too. Though it looked like the room hadn’t been vacuumed, the kettle had old water in it, and we only had a quarter of a toilet roll left. Despite the age of the place and the minor disappointments, it was a good 1 night stay with a convenient location.

This property is in an ideal location, literally in the heart of Halls Gap so you can easily stroll to the main street. The staff are friendly and courteous. Overall the property is comfortable and the room was a good size although it is dated, it had everything we needed though. I probably wouldn’t stay here again unless they improve the hot water- it didn’t seem to matter what time of day it was as the showers were always lukewarm which is not what you want in chilly weather. For me that’s a big thing but if you’re not fussed about that detail then it’s otherwise good :-)
