Hotel Maurice

Hotel was extremely clean and quiet despite renovations going on. Staff was amazing and very helpful with suggestions for dining.

Really awesome hotel with a 10/10 design concept. The little chateau building and 1920s theme is really great. Nice little terrace as well. There are a few smaller issues we found: - The hotel is listed as 5 stars but at least right now, it really only consists of the rooms - The restaurant is closed and there is construction going on. This IS reflected in the prices though - The hotel seems to be severely understaffed. The super-nice crew has to do front desk, garage management and more and it's only one person at a time. Sometimes the reception desk was just vacant - No breakfast - The cigar lounge that doubles as a bar obviously has a heavy smell to it. If you don't like smoking you can't even go in there So right now the hotel feels more like a guest house. I'd still recommend it if you're okay staying outside most of the time and you don't need any services. Also make sure that the price is right.

On the day we arrived I received a message to advise my wife and I that the lifts were not working, reception to check in is on the 2nd floor and our room was on the 3rd floor withboth of us retired and over 65 this was not a welcome we had expected. It's clear the work has been going on for some time therefore why were we not advised prior to arrival day. I don't find this acceptable. Day one we had no milk for coffee in our room, day two we had no milk or coffee and run out of toilet paper, day three on our evening return our bed had been made up but still no milk, no coffee and no toilet paper. For what thus hotel is charging I'm afraid they are lacking in basic hotel hospitality skilss and I would not recommend this place to stay. We found out on checking out the lifts were now working but no bothered to send us a message or leave a note in our room or reception to advise us just yet another example of poor management. Does make me wonder if my wife and I were going up and down all these stairs for days unnecessarily.

They were doing some renovations, the room was lovely, modern, and comfy. Tea kettle had extremely short electrical cord.

Nice hotel, recently renovated, building works still going on which we weren't warned about. Think the 5 star is generous. Staff nice, but did not offer a 5 star service - no availability of an early check in, no safe place to leave bags. Bedroom nice, but bed quite small & no high end toiletries as you would expect in a 5 star hotel.

The hotel is in soft opening. No restaurant or food. Rarely a reception present, I needed my car early in the am (valet) and no one got my request for about 30 minutes…. Not good when you have appointments to make. There was an apology but I was still late:(

Great location for watching the winter carnival parade. We were on the front balcony by the patio heaters!

Staff are very friendly. You should know that housekeeping is done very late, like after 4. The elevator was out of order for 2 days. The tv setup is weird in room 303. You need to watch tv from bed.

The hotel advertised transportation to & from the hotel on their website and Expedia. We received confirmation by email & text of our pickup time at the terminal including the day of our arrival. We arrived early & waited 2 hours for pickup. After the scheduled time, I called & the hotel said they no longer offered that service. So, we Ubered to the hotel. When we aked to use the washrooms, they said not available & use the public ones across the street. We wanted to eat lunch - sorry restaurant closed. Employees did not know how to work with Expedia. They did not bill our credit card provided to Expedia & threaten us with eviction unless we provided a credit card. This was at 8 PM at night. I had to show rhe employees how to work with Expedia.

Very nice hotel!

We had a beautiful room and an overall nice stay. The hotel is currently going through renovations, meaning the restaurant is closed. This was not advertised on Expedia. I reached out to the hotel directly when I couldn’t find any information about the restaurant on their website. The other concern we had is that we received a text from someone impersonating the hotel looking for payment to keep the room reserved. I just think that people should be aware when booking.

Very nice hotel in a great location. The room was large, modern and well-appointed but the valet parking service was a mess due to insufficient staffing. They tell you that it takes 5 to 10 minutes to get your car but when you try to call the front desk to request your car nobody picks up, when someone finally does, it often takes another 10 minutes to get your car. One morning it took 20 minutes to get our call; the morning of our departure we waited for 35 minutes. That's unacceptable.
