Albion Hotel

All good. Only negative was noise from bar getting to room until 11.45.

We booked a one night stay in the Albert Room. Room was very nice, particularly the wonderful sea views, comfortable bed and air conditioning. Bathroom was spacious and featured a double rainfall shower. Towels were soft and felt quite new. The room has a large terrace with sun loungers and chairs, but no privacy from the other rooms on the same level. Hotel has a well maintained car park. We had dinner at the nearby Hut Restaurant, which, based on the rather disappointing breakfast, was the right choice.

As advertised very comfortable

Based on others' reviews, we had high expectations for the Albion Hotel, but these were comfortably exceeded. Rooms are modern and well-equipped ... we especially liked the his 'n hers showers ... and ours had a large (shared) terrace overlooking delightful sea views. The quality of food and choice of wine at dinner were both outstanding, followed by an excellent breakfast. Without exception, the staff were all extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed an excellent stay here. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. We were lucky enough to stay in the spacious Victoria Suite, which had an amazing bathroom and enjoyed wonderful views of the sea. We also had our own private balcony. The property has clearly undergone a recent refurbishment, which was apparent from the spotless and tasteful decor.

We had a lovely coastal deluxe bedroom with superb sea view. Extremely comfortable and spacious. Hotel comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely, helpful staff, great food

The setting is perfect, overlooking Freshwater Bay, and the hotel has been beautifully restored. Everywhere feels very spacious and comfortable. The staff are lovely and clearly wanted us to have a wonderful experience staying at the hotel. They dealt with my irritating dietary requirements with concern and professionalism and were all friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back.

Lovely location on bay and for a walk in the Downs. Lovely hotel with a great breakfast. Room was very comfortable with excellent air con.

Great location , helpful staff parking easy

The restaurant staff was very friendly but reception was more like “This is it, take it or leave it”… We asked support for our son to have a quick shower as he felt unwell under the sun, just 5 minutes after we checked out ( at a time earlier than 11 am check out time) they showed no empathy The second bed was extremely uncomfortable.

We loved our stay at the Albion. The attention of the staff and comfort of the hotel added to our enjoyment of the wonderful location. We will stay again.

Great location, nice room, good breakfast

The hotel was wonderful, the staff were very kind and professional and always happy to assist. My room was overlooking the sea, stunning view and the dinning area was lovely with a stunning view of the sea also. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I hope to visit again.

This is a very well-located hotel, with well-appointed rooms. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. The negative is the thumping bass in the bar/restaurant...it seemed OK at dinner, but was unpleasant at breakfast time. Our beautiful suite, the Victoria Suite, was right above the bar/restaurant and the bass from around 7.30 am to 11.30 pm detracted from an otherwise lovely stay. So if you are noise sensitive I would suggest choosing a room well away from the bar/restaurant. If you aren't, you will enjoy the view from the balcony and the decadent bathroom!

Logistically superb - lots of walks, beach, at low tide you can go rock pooling etc. Bus stop right outside - which when the weather isn't great is a useful option to get around. There are small bus routes that loop certain areas - and you get a running commentary so worth jumping on. Hotel is fabulous - views are amazing, food is delicious, and good value, room were exceptional (you must like the sound of the sea) and the staff are kind, informative and go above and beyond.

The hotel is beautiful and modern which we liked. It did lack in some big areas and I frankly expected better. The toilet was dirty on arrival and I don’t mean just a little. There were dried urine stains over the seat, the toilet, the base and the floor. Not sure how this could even be missed (which I can only assume means they don’t clean properly). It was resolved straight away but we shouldn’t have had to ask. The staff in the hotel were good. However, not so much at the onsite restaurant (The Rock). We found the service to be poor at the restaurant. We had to wait nearly an hour for a simple main meal which we were told was because of a lack of staff. This wasn’t communicated until after we paid. The prices are also too expensive. We had breakfast every day at this restaurant. The value for money is poor. They do not make it clear what is included. They will only let you order 1 item from the hot menu which is not stated anywhere. So you could effectively be paying £25 for some hot porridge. You also have to self serve everything including hot drinks and toast etc. At this price point I would expect a level of table service. Finally, the room is lovely. The terrace and view is amazing. We loved this. Again though there were some minor things that could be improved. This isn’t a cheap hotel and they need to have a better finish and eye for detail. Carpet edges and joins frayed. Holes in bedsheets. Cracked lampshades. It’s a shame but we probably wouldn’t return.
