Crowne Plaza NOTTINGHAM by IHG

This is a really good hotel. The location is great for the theatres and cinema in Nottingham. It's in front of Rock City and a 20 min walk from the station. There are good restaurants nearby but the hotel also has 2 restaurants, room service and bar meals. It's worth upgrading to use the Club Lounge too. Comfy beds, quiet rooms and a bath! Theres a pool and soa too. No complaints!

The aircon was broken in the hotel, meaning the room was unbearably hot when trying to sleep. It would have been nice if the hotel had contacted us prior to the stay to inform us and given us the option of cancelling.

1st night was fab- 2nd night the air con failed (lots of rooms had the same problem) hotel gave us one fan but with 4 of us in a room it soon became very hot as you cannot open the windows. Asked for another fan and one never came. The rest of the hotel was cool just the rooms- it made for an uncomfortable nights sleep

Lovely spa area

Really great central location with a very handy car park. We stayed here to go to a concert at rock city and it was the perfect location for it. Nice rooms. Easily walkable around the town from here or easy links to the tram.

Staff on reception were friendly, welcoming & helpful. Housekeeping prompt & pleasant. Spa staff were the same. A smashing hotel experience thank you. Lovely pool, steam & hottub.

Air con loud and didn’t work Rubbish left on floor by the windows

Lovely Lounge area and entrance. The health club staff were great. Air con doesn’t work well in the whole hotel and no fans when we arrived so had a very hot night before we asked again and again and finally got a fan for our second night. Room was only set up for three but four booked so again had to ask for more towels etc. Just lots of little things that meant it wasn’t up to what we expected.

There were two main issues during our stay: The AC wasn’t working on what was probably the hottest day of the year so far. Breakfast took quite a while to be topped up. That said, the staff were really nice and friendly throughout.

Poor experience regarding my room that did not have working air conditioning, eventually got a room move at 1.15am to smaller room that had one of the worst showers I have come across (I travel constantly for work). Nothing offered to me as a good will gesture for the issues I had. I stay in Crown Plaza’s across the country and have always found them to be great but at Nottingham this was a poor guest experience with no clear process to rectify issues or maintain the customer focus.

The room was clean and comfortable but no working A/C

​I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding our stay from May 15th to 17th, 2026. What was meant to be a relaxing family retreat resulted in severe distress, unacceptable hygiene failures, and unexpected financial costs. ​Upon a late check-in on Friday, our room was infested with moths and insects crawling on the carpet. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and professional, doing their absolute best to reassign us to the 7th floor. Disappointingly, this second room suffered from the exact same infestation, with dead insects squashed along the wardrobe rails due to a clear lack of housekeeping. This distressing environment reduced my six-year-old daughter to tears. ​Given these untenable conditions, it was impossible to stay. I presented video evidence to the duty manager and requested a full refund. We were forced to seek alternative accommodation at 10:00 PM. This ordeal was emotionally draining and financially burdensome, forcing us to incur last-minute costs for alternative accommodation and transport. Furthermore, my parents had to cut their trip short, entirely ruining our family plans. ​A standard refund is insufficient for this level of disruption. While I appreciate that front-line staff did everything they could, property maintenance is management's responsibility. I expect full accountability and compensation for our losses and distress.

It was an excellent stay. Gemma at the front desk was so bubbly and sweet. Very friendly and got our trip off to a great start. Room was spacious and clean, Food at the restaurant was great. Time between starter, main, pudding was perfect. Quality of food was great. Drinks were also great. I forget the name of the gentleman who was our server but he was delightful. Making lighthearted jokes and just being very helpful. We had a great stay

Unfortunately they put me in a room that has a thumping sound the whole entire night. It wasn't consistent and would turn off sometimes for a few minutes but I ended up getting only 1 hour of sleep with a pillow squished over my head. I don't know if they would've accommodated a room change, that's on me, but I was just there from 11pm with an early morning exit, so I don't particularly want the middle-of-the-night hassle.

Room were very clean and welcoming. Bed was very comfortable. Nothing was too much for the staff. Everyone was so helpful and polite. Large choice at breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection. The spa facilities were a lovely bonus. We've stayed at a number of Crowne Plaza hotels but I have to say Nottingham is our favorite. The staff are a real credit to the hotel. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

The air conditioning wouldn’t work in the room and was reported twice and not repaired. A fan was supplied but that just blew the hot air around the room and was very noisy. I understand that problems occur, but this clearly wasn’t working before we were assigned the room. Finally no discount or future credit for the discomfort was offered. The staff were polite but didn’t seem inclined to solve the issue.

Really enjoyed the overnight stay. The hotel is well situated in Nottingham. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Dinner was very nice and the hotel has a nice relaxed feel to it. Only issue in my room was some of the surfaces were a bit dusty. Apart from that I would stay again.

No sleep! Room 705 bang opposite Rock City nightclub. Didn’t stop until 3:35. Then some random women knocking on my door at 3:45.

Lovely stay. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Really convenient for The Royal Concert Hall for someone with limited mobility. Whole hotel is a little tired, but was clean and facilities were excellent. The bathroom in the room was well proportioned but the toilet was situated under a grab rail which made it virtually inaccessible for a larger person, sitting sideways was the only option. The restaurant was lovely, but was under staffed, there only appeared to be one (lovely, helpful) waiter trying to deal with the whole restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, though if you came down towards the end there was less choice. Have been to other hotels in this chain that were slightly more up to date, this one could perhaps do with a bit of a boost.
