ARCOTEL Rubin Hamburg

One night stay but hotel was clean, room was clean and quiet (we were street side and noise was not there) and overall location was good with only 8 min walk to train station. Overall nice place to stay in Hamburg.

Nice hotel in a good location

Nice hotel, close to transit. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The room is clean, not far from the train station. But it is quite basic, maybe too basic for the price. Breakfast is usually expensive in Germany and I think a good breakfast can be found for much less outside the hotel. We were not told at the reception that the room cleaning had to be ordered so we were left without it. The street from the station to the hotel is quite scary so I recommend caution.

I really enjoyed the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful. The location was great. The room was well-maintained.

Decoration

Hotel is nice, clean, and located a short walk to a street with many good restaurants and from the Central Station in Hamburg. Also a short walk to a beautiful lake and we enjoyed our evening walks around the lake. Staff are friendly and upgraded us to a nice room with views when we told them we are not happy with the room we were given at the check-in. Breakfasts are really great and offer variety of foods. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel close to underground, only one stop from main station. Well organised, has everything in the room that you need. Pleasant stay. Lot of Turkish eateries around.

Dirty sheets. Seemed to have bedbugs

Nice clean hotel with very friendly staff. The location suited us for what we were looking for but I can imagine the area can put some people off.

By check in the desk lady announced to us, with a great apology, that the 4.5-star Arcotel Rubin was totally overbooked and hence she'd send us over to 3-star hotel suite. I wouldn't accept her offer which made her respond that by my refusal I was welcome to find another accommodation in town at my own expense. We had driven 11 hours from Denmark including over a 3-hour traffic jam on highway 7 on account of a horrible accident so I was forced to accept her degrading. To cut the story short it was not only a rather disappointing but also a humiliating experience for the desk lady offered me no compensation at all. I had stayed in the Arcotel before and enjoyed their standards but this miserable affair would make me wanna warn my fellow travellers against this hotel. I hope Hotels.com will follow up on this incident professionally.
