Riad Tahyra

Great Riad in great location.

We stayed 2 nights with Riad Tahyra. Service was the best! We had a day tour and we needed to leave early. The night before, we asked Ayoub if we could get some food to take with us but he prepared us breakfast (nonstandard but has all the essentials - boiled egg, orange juice, honey, jam and warm bread). Our flight was in the evening. After check out, Sahim let us stay at their reception. They also safekept our luggage while we went out to have lunch. Location is in the medina so it is very accessible to the souks and Jemaa el Fna. However, it might be tricky to find the Riad the first time especially at night.

Our room was huge and amazing! I wish we could have stayed there longer because we felt like a family was welcoming us into their home. The staff was amazing and we were even invited back for tea and conversation…even though we were not staying there! It was difficult to locate with Google Maps, but Apple Maps got us there. Highly recommended!

This riad is a very beautiful place and I am glad to have select it to stay. The deco style is very Morocco. We feel we have travelled back in time. The stuff is vey friendly and their service is excellent. We stayed for 3 nights but wished staying longer.

Very close to the soul and jamaa el fna, super convenient to walk to most important places

A beautiful riad in the center of Marrakech, close to the souks but far enough to not hear them. Every corner is beautifully decorated, everywhere you look, another intricate design. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Great breakfast with msemmen and hasha. We were only passing through Marrakech for one night this time but on our next visit we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you so much, choukran :)

Could not recommend this Riad enough! Having spent a week in and around Marrakech, this ticks every box and more. First of all, it’s beautiful! A true oasis from the madness of Marrakech with great (and very essential air con). The location couldn’t be better. It’s literally a 5 minute walk to the likes of Nomad, L’Mida, Cafe Des Epices, the spice market, is just off the main souk semmarine and less than 10 minutes walk to Jemaa el Fnaa. Amazing! Most importantly though, is the service. Ayoub is the most attentive host we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with - from the daily breakfast to simply always making sure we’ve got everything we need. He went above and beyond and I already miss staying at this riad. If you’re planning a trip to Marrakech, stay here!!

Great Riad!

We had an excellent stay. The accommodations were great. We had one bedroom with a nice shower, air conditioning, and wifi. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating with a little bit of a language barrier but that’s what Google translate is for. We had a lovely breakfast buffet the next morning in the courtyard. The location was slightly difficult to find but a nice woman pointed us in the right direction. Although most people were kind and helpful, keep your guard up. While exploring the Medina on our way to the secret garden we did have someone scam us for money. All that to be said the Riad Tahyra was great and we would definitely stay here again.

Nutshell: stay here if you want to have food poisoning for your entire trip. Riad interior: ok interior, but water feature switched off so pictured looked much better than in real life, sun lounges without cushions, so just metal frames. A few yards to choose from if you want to sit in hotel. Breakfast: limited choices and we got food poisoning from eating their gone-off yogurt/orange juice/spread. (Note: still disputing with Expedia as this riad refused to refund us or have any sort of compensation for the inconvenience - we were literally projectile vomiting everywhere.) Food: claimed to serve food (menu in room), but didn’t order any due to food poisoning experience. Room: no kettle, no mini fridge, and no live TV. Need to insert your own Netflix login to watch anything (which was fine). Room is ok in size, but extremely dimmed. Doors are locked with pad lock (those for regular lockers), so anyone could’ve broken in. To enter riad, you must ring the buzzer, not ideal Location: inconvenient location - inaccessible by car. Felt unsafe getting to hotel. There were always a lot of random men sitting around outside the riad. Unsure about the safety getting back at night. Taxi: claimed to offer taxi arrangements, but failed to respond to me despite multiple attempts - via email and Expedia messages. Will not recommend and will certainly not return. We had book another night, but we had to make alternative arrangement at our own expense. Terrible start to our trip.

It was an enjoyable experience

Great staff and very clean property. As soon as you walk in it feels peaceful and safe. The rooms were great and we really enjoyed the breakfast.

Our stay was awesome. The staff was super nice and accommodating and made our stay very easy. The property itself is a beautiful building tucked away in the Medina. Overall very good Riad!

It was a good stay and we had a good time. on the first night the AC was not working properly and I asked them to look into it and they had it sorted the next day. overall, it was a positive experience. Special mention to Ayoub who was attentive and provided us a great experience during out stay.

Great stay, so clean and very attentive staff

A very beautiful Rial - initially we struggled to find the place, but there were some kind locals who helped us without any hesitation. Some reviews mention that you need to hire a porter in order to get to this place, personally we did not and it is not compulsory unless you are carrying a lot of luggages, then you may benefit from this. We enjoyed our stay from beginning to end - all staff members were extremely kind, helpful and welcoming. Our room was extremely beautiful and the property has all the basic amenities that you need. Room is cleaned and refreshed daily. Location wise it is about a 5-7min walk from the square and it is in the middle of the medina. It is slightly tucked away, so that you have some quiet and privacy but still within walking distance of everything. There is always someone at the reception throughout the day/night if any issues were to occur. For anyone that is considering this place - I highly recommend it and hope this review persuades you to select this riad. Me and my partner will definitely be returning.
