Caples Court

Recently stayed 4 nights. Manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. Building is a bit old, but our room was, nice, large and furnished with all we needed to prepare food and be comfortable. Bathroom was especially clean and bright and bed was comfortable. Everything was very quiet during our stay. Nice views of the downtown area and the Skyline Gondola.

Great location, easy to find. The car park is a little small/often full but otherwise everything was perfect.

Very handy to transport and central attractions. Beautiful view of the village, lake and gondola from our room on the top floor.

Tough one to review: Check-in: smooth and easy; accommodated late arrival (5) Staff: excellent (5) Cleanliness: clean (3) Rooms: very small; queen size bed took up the whole room to the point where you couldn’t walk next to the bed and there were no bedside tables. Shower was smaller than a dorm room stall shower (2) Property condition: needs capital improvements/upgrade. A/C broke during stay and not fixed; windows didn’t shut tightly; worn interior (2). Overall: 3 stars, with potential for improvement. One of the best features is that it is a short 5-minute walk to the Queenstown center (shopping district, restaurants, activities, etc

Location was very good but the basement room we booked was more closed in than expected. Considering the price paid compared to other options in the area it was fine but we would not book this option in the future.

Wonderful view, easy walk to main town activities. All around great stay.

Great location. Very dirty when we arrived. We rung after hours number and they said they couldn't do anything as they were fully booked. No offer to clean. I said I would buy cleaning products to clean it up. Next day thankfully we were offered the night for free and a deep clean. The state of the room was very disgusting. The room was great for just sleeping. Had everything we needed. Easy after hours check in.

The property was central and had parking available. The room was a good size abs provided all we needed and the team members on reception were always super friendly and helpful. We had the basement room which while big needed a bit of ventilation. The windows in the morning had a heap of condensation on them and there was a bit of a musty smell.

The bathroom was absolutely filthy, toilet had not been cleaned in or around for a long time by,the looks of the dust and wee on the floor behind it, toilet brush covered in dust. Drains stank of mildew and ceiling fan filthy. At least,the bedding was clean. Heater in bedroom had no screws in feet so it was unsafe to use. Someone left their earrings on sidetable. The only thing the cleaners did to clean when i was out was empty the bins and put a clean bathmat in.. The outside table had chairs that were wobbly so didnt feel safe to sit on. TV was analogue and had no TV2, couch was very comfy, to sit on. I won't stay again as bathroom was so dirty. Toilet had a mold ring around the waterline and stains from previous tenant. But i was tired and didn't like to make a fuss to complain.

Property is rather run down and expect way better for price. Minimal parking and they need to upgrade to a digital TV for more options including subscriptions

The host was so accomodating and I loved how the apartment was serviced every day.

The only redeeming feature for this property is the position, being close enough to the town centre for an easy walk (hilly though if you're pushing a pram or lugging any gear, but then, it IS Queenstown). The kitchen is NOT set up for prepping family meals: two electric hotplates, one small frying pan, a poor excuse for a microwave, and a baby fridge. no real bench space, no real space at all. beds were ok, but not for the price paid. The 'Bay View' I paid extra for was only from the small kitchen window, or if you went outside on the shared walkway/deck. Don't bring a big car if you plan on parking in their underground area, it's tight! We were lucky enough to be given the motor home space right out front of the building, which easily accommodated our Ford Ranger (but right next to the open footpath), but otherwise it would have been street parking which is max 3hrs 7 days a week. Staff were pleasant and easy to deal with. Oh, the hot water was non existent on our last day, and water pressure was really poor (very unusual in NZ from many years experience). All in all, I had many options at the time of booking, but went with this apartment as it read a lot better than the reality. disappointing after 2 weeks in beautiful Cardrona Valley in a stunning 2 bedroom apartment that was cheaper!
