We stayed in the newly renovated area of the hotel, and it was very nice. We had a large suite with kitchenette and a nice view of the sea, and the mountains. The restaurant on the fifth floor is great and the staff was very helpful. The staff in the lobby main desk also great. Our first day in the spa was very busy with visitors from outside the hotel and the two staff members seemed overwhelmed however, the second day was very quiet and we had the spa to ourselves with one other couple. The steam room is amazing with stone sitting area as well as the stainless infinity hot tub, and the large infinity pool is slightly warmed, but more of a cool off pool, but long enough that you can swim. We saw the northern lights from the parking lot two nights in a row and it is a short walk to town and a very nice walk.

Lovely hotel, beautiful spa downstairs that the kids can use in the morning. Breakfast was good. Nice location - a short walk down the hill into the town for shops, restaurants and tours, but we didn’t mind that.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay and the lack of basic standards from the moment we arrived. Our room was dusty and unclean, our socks turned white from walking on the floor. Housekeeping was sent only after we complained, which should never be necessary. My husband also cleaned the fridge himself after finding a previous guest’s hair inside it. Before arrival, I informed the hotel in writing that my child has a feather allergy. Despite this, feather bedding was provided. I raised this again on arrival, but nothing was done. Even after moving the pillows ourselves, my child developed a bad rash and runny nose. This was distressing and completely avoidable. That evening, we were refused a table at 6pm in an almost empty restaurant and told it was “fully booked.” Staff were rude and dismissive. Room food then took over an hour, arrived incorrect and incomplete, and was refused. I formally complained to management on the first day and have still received no response. Guests are required to pay in full via Expedia before arrival, leaving little incentive to resolve issues once you are there. This was meant to be a special family trip and birthday celebration for our son, but it became stressful and upsetting. Overall, a very poor experience with serious concerns around cleanliness, staff attitude, management responsiveness and guest health needs.

The Saint Elizabeth suites are a perfect place to stay if you are in Tromso. The sweets are modern, brand new, and well appointed. We did not have time to use the spa, but we did take a look and it looks very nice. Worth noting is that there is a full-service restaurant on the top floor with an extraordinary view. We were there during the midnight sun, so we could see far and wide over Tromso and the water. In the later month, no doubt you could see the northern lights right from the restaurant deck. We had breakfast and dinner there the breakfast was a buffet. The food was excellent, and the staff stayed late to accommodate dinner very late. They were truly wonderful. Most importantly, I want to call out Christian at the front desk - he went above and beyond to address everything we needed and was so polite and pleasant. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is a beautiful hotel with modern rooms, coffee makers, and made service every day. To take advantage of the wonderful spa while you were there. I think the price is a little high, but it’s definitely worth it. My only observation negative is that it is a 1/2 to 1 mile walk to the shopping and restaurant areas. This may not sound far, but when it’s the dead of winter and dark outside, it is a consideration. Taxis in this city or quite expensive.

Disappointing Experience at a “Spa” Hotel As someone who travels extensively across Europe, staying in hotels nearly half the month, I have certain expectations when a property brands itself as a “spa hotel.” Unfortunately, this hotel fell far short. Firstly, I was shocked to find that access to the spa—one of the main selling points of the property—was not included in the price. Charging extra for the spa seems not only counterintuitive but also misleading. For a hotel that positions itself as a spa destination, this is highly disappointing and unlike anything I’ve encountered elsewhere. The rooms themselves lacked basic amenities you’d expect even in a standard hotel, let alone one marketed as upscale. There were no bedside table lamps, facial tissues, or luggage racks. These omissions significantly detracted from the comfort and practicality of the stay. Overall, this property does not justify its branding or price point. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for the comfort and luxury typically associated with a spa hotel.

We truly loved our stay at Enter St Elisabeth. The hotel was clean and modern, with snacks available for purchase in the room. We stayed in a suite, which included a kitchen, living room, a bathroom separate from the bedroom, and even a pullout sofa bed. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to spend our entire vacation exploring on foot. The front desk team was fantastic, offering great service throughout our stay. On our last night, after an aurora tour, we returned to the hotel around 3:30 am and found ourselves locked out. Although this wasn’t ideal, the after-hours staff responded quickly, coming right over to let us in. His promptness and willingness to help made it just a minor inconvenience in an otherwise wonderful experience. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!
