Communication was poor regarding the “shuttle”. It’s only free one way and must pre-arranged. The oxygen has a charge but this wasn’t explained the first time I used it. The “Do Not Disturb” sign was not honored and our things were gone through or moved in the room. Some of the staff were very helpful and others not so much. The rooms do not have blackout curtains and the street light/noise is bad.

The hospitality of the staff at this hotel is astounding. We felt so very cared for and welcome. They always greeted us with smiles and even made us to-go meal baskets on days when we left before breakfast. They provided us an inexpensive laundry service and arranged our airport shuttle even though we needed to leave at 4 AM. The breakfast every morning was delicious. In addition to the normal spread, which consisted of different breads, meat, cheese, fresh fruit, fresh juices, cereals, tea, and coffee, they had hot items that were different each day. The hotel is spacious and has the feel of a boutique hotel or family-owned bed and breakfast. We loved the sitting areas on the third floor and the outdoor balcony on the top floor. The wifi is fine but a little spotty due to some older equipment. We stayed in a room with three beds and the room was clean, comfortable and well-designed, with ample space. Unfortunately, our experience was tainted by the lack of reliably-warm water. Mid-week, they changed us to a different room, but it was less reliable than our original room. So, it turned out that about 1/2 of our showers were either cold or barely warm. We also had fits with the shower doors not sliding open easily due to loose rollers on the track. We had a screwdriver and were able to get it tightened enough to slide open, but until we did it was pretty annoying.

We had a nice stay. Staff was very nice, specially Andres in the reception. Brasfast buffet was ok. Nothing luxurious. Walking distance to the main plaza about 15 minutes. Elevator is available, a big plus. Restaurants, shops plentiful in the area costing much less than in the main plaza.Things that needs to be taken care. Hot water goes away when you're showering. Returns later again. Its very annoying. They provide no irons. The toilet seat sits low. A common thing in Peruvian hotels.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was **spacious and clean**, which made my stay comfortable. The hotel also offers a **free shuttle bus to the airport**, which was very convenient, and I appreciated the **complimentary hot tea available in the reception area**. However, there were a few downsides. The **breakfast options were quite limited**, so it would be great if they could expand their menu. Another issue was the **lack of hot water** in the shower, which was quite inconvenient. Additionally, the **check-out time is at 9 AM**, which feels too early compared to most hotels (usually 11 AM or 12 PM). Despite these issues, the hotel provided good value for money, and the friendly staff made up for some of the shortcomings. If they could improve the hot water supply and extend the check-out time, it would make the stay much better. **Overall, a decent choice for a short stay**, especially if you need an airport shuttle.

I had MANY quibbles with this hotel, but the main thing was disrespect from the staff. I have a physical issue from childbearing that takes extra care, but didn't have my usual things on the trip. Early in the morning of our departure, with an Uber on the way, I noticed a glare on the clerk's face when we exited the elevator. I had no idea it has anything to do with me. Wrong! He demanded 40 soles because they had found a stain on a sheet. Of course I was horrified and unaware, so we protested the charge. He then brought out a clear plastic bag with the sheet in it to confront me. Well, I'm sorry! It was certainly unintentional, and isn't it a business expense for a hotel to deal with stuff on sheets?! It is well known that you have to work on a potential stain as soon as possible to have success in removal. But NO, they saved it to stick it in my face the next day. Wow!! They could have written a discreet note the day before. or be professional and either wash the sheet in a timely manner or throw it out and accept that new sheets have to be purchased sometimes. But they prefer to humiliate the guests. More issues: thin curtains that let in too much light from the street; no apparent ability to control the heater (too hot for sleeping); dangerously slippery floors in room; surging hot/cold water in the shower; uninspired breakfast; pushy manager who demanded our key when we were going out the first day so they could clean (hmmm…); depressing, dated decor and more. : P

Pros: -Proximity to Plaza Des Armas (10-15min walk) -Proximity to PeruRail’s Wanchaq bus station. Convenient if you booked the bi-modal service for Machu Picchu tour -Front desk is nice & polite -Free continental breakfast, though it’s the same everyday -1 Free airport transfer, can be used from airport to the hotel OR vice versa. For us, we used it from the hotel to the airport for departure. Be careful though coz the driver tried to charge us 30soles for the trip, but we know it’s supposed to be free so we just told him that. FYI, Uber is cheaper at 15soles if you need to book. Cons: -It’s loud. Understandable that you may hear some outside traffic since it’s right by the road, but you can hear everything! Sirens, car alarms (literally went off everyday of our stay), honking from outside, etc. From the inside, we can hear the clanking of plates/dishes during breakfast time (5:30am to 9:30), chair movements, door closing, bathroom showers running. Might need some earplugs to get a good night sleep or if you’re a light sleeper, this place may not be for you. -Pillows are flat and bed is hard for us (and we’re someone who prefer firm mattresses) -Minimal toiletries provided -Interesting smell in the dining area and hallways. It sort of smells like incense, though we were not sure. It was pretty strong for us and the smell sticks to your clothing. Overall, you get what you pay for. A no frills hotel that’s decently priced and close to Plaza des Armas.
