Overall I enjoyed my stay at Makarem. It was very close to the Haram, took us approximately 5 minutes to walk and it was all flat no hills to walk up and down. The room was clean and staff were nice some facilities like the kettle didn’t work but it was a minor issue. Good transportation just a step outside from the hotel. Overall I highly recommend this hotel!!

Very close to haram on a flat road. Good wifi, large tv, saif ul islam from cleaning service cleaned our room daily and provided the necessary tea/coffee/water refills.

Great location. Minutes away from the Masjid. Easy access to restaurants and coffee shops. It could be a bit cleaner, there is mold in the molding of the shower. The front desk staff is very dismissive to guest’s concerns. While I did my booking, I chose to pay extra to include the breakfast package. Upon arrival hotel staff informed me that they have never offered breakfast as a package and it’s a glitch with Expedia. They said this happens a lot, yet they haven’t done anything to change the settings of the bookings. Expedia still allows you to book including breakfast for additional fee. I still haven’t gotten a refund for the extra money I paid to include breakfast.

The location of hotel is absolutely amazing, 3min away from HARAM / KAABA.
The staff are very friendly ,welcoming and helpful. Even the customer relations department keeps calling me to know if we need something and check on our stay.
The food is tasty ( even if few options because I’m vegetarian ).
Just the parking is little bit hard so we park before the tunnel and it’s free .
At the check out they send us with a hotel car to the parking where I put my car .

If it’s your first time doing ummrah and you have a budget for this hotel. I would recommend you book it wallahi, the location is very convenient and nice and the staff are also very respectful and helpfull, also if your are trying to exchange your money into SAR the people down stairs in the hotel can exchange it for you or the the clothing store in the lobby.

The rooms were average but outdated! Sinks kept clogging and so was the shower drainage. After multiple calls, they housekeeping said it’s fine but it wasn’t. The room was so humid that the entire pillow and blankets felt wet. After talking to reception, they sent someone to check and the individual said if you put your air conditioning on low it won’t feel this way. We requested for room change and that wasn’t an. Option! We checked inn a day late but was still charged. Overall, would never stay there again.

Extremely disappointed with the sympathy shown by this hotel. They do not care about pilgrims and only about money. My grandmother had passed away last week whilst I was on umrah and staying in medina and despite giving the hotel ample notice, they wouldn’t even bother replying to the representative from Hotels.com. All other hotels I had booked had processed a full refund despite holding strict policies too and offered their condolences.
This hotel is run by pure greed.
I hope you don’t go through what I have during a difficult time.
