Our room was compact as you would expect of a budget hotel. The lobby was spacious with wireless charging station, now that’s a first! The complimentary tea station was a winner too. Staff were welcoming, informative, and helpful. The location was close to several buses and the tram station.

Efficiently, clean and comfortable rooms with a nice area to grab breakfast before an early flight. Convenient to airport and airport transportation.

Considering that it was a budget hotel, we were very happy with our stay as the room was clean, the staff were helpful, the amenities were sufficiently stocked, and the location was ideally situated where it was near a Tram Station (i.e. Gyle Centre). The hotel is also very near Gyle Shopping Centre where Morrisons Supermarket and Marks & Spencer were located within, so it was convenient for us to get our necessities and do some shopping concurrently. The tram service into the city area was also very convenient. As we had an early flight back home, the distance from Gyle Centre to Edinburgh Airport via the tram service was also ideal. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the housekeepers, and we would like to thank them for their great service! The stay at Ibis Budget Hotel has been a good experience and we would definitely recommend their hotel to fellow budget conscious travelers. We hope to have the opportunity to stay at Ibis Budget Hotel should we visit Edinburgh again in the future. If there is an improvement that we can offer, it would probably be the shower's glass door where the opening allows water to splash out whenever we are bathing and this wets the floor outside which requires us to dry the floor regularly to clean up the mess. Maybe the opening can be sealed and replaced with a conventional door handle to facilitate the door's opening and closing while preventing water from splashing out at the same time when bathing thus avoiding the mess.

Don’t expect anything fancy, hence “budget” in the name. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. The shower was basically in the bedroom and the bathroom had no privacy. There was a large gap at the top so definitely not sound proof. It was only a few minute walk to the tram, so good for transportation. I probably wouldn’t stay again and I would pay the extra to have bathroom and shower privacy. If that doesn’t matter to you then go for it.

This is exactly as specified, a budget hotel. We were two women travelers. Just friends. This was one of the cheapest hotels in Edinburgh that we could find, but they didn't have any twin bedrooms available, so we had to book a room with one double bed. That wasn't so bad, because they were kind enough to give us an extra blanket during our stay. The problem is that the shower is not in a room of its own. It is right next to the bed. Not something I took into account when booking the room, so not their fault, but something to be aware of. However, the room was never actually cleaned while we were there. They gave us new towels, took away the dirty ones, and remade the bed, but nothing was wiped down and the sheets were never changed. That made the shower start to stink after a couple of days. So while the workers were nice and the breakfast wasn't too bad and it was pretty quiet, I didn't like the lack of cleanliness.

Consider that this location is far from downtown, and you need to get a tram for 40 minutes to get there. But it is closer to the airport, and getting there is easy. Consider that the property is designed on a bonkers basis. Just one bothersome item, they have limited staff at the reception, and waiting is longer than you expect. a busy hotel.

Room was clean and modern but noisy from highway traffic. The breakfast not worth it. Scrambled eggs were rubbery, bacon and sausage tasted bad. The orange juice machine was empty but was filled when I asked at reception and was very good. Bread was good

Cashless hotel only accepts card. Room are tiny but pizza is offered 24 hours. The complimentary juice machine was out of order. Although property is close to Tram and rail service, it also neighbors several busy office buildings. Including a currently active construction site. No expectation of privacy or quiet. Customer service was lukewarm, but available. Would only recommend for one night stay, and for closeness to airport.

I used the hotel for overnight stay before surgery at nearby hospital. Didn't use any of the amenities. It is a budget hotel and therefore there are no frills but room had everything that was needed. Price I felt was still on the high side but this is Edinburgh. Overall for a cheap night I would certainly use again.
