The hotel's exterior is very tired and run down, although its location beside the river is pleasant. Unfortunately, the room had an unusual smell, which appeared to be coming from the bed linen. The marble flooring throughout the hotel also made it extremely noisy, as every footstep and movement of furniture echoed around the building. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but not one I would wish to repeat.

Really disappointed. Only chose as advertised as 9.8 miles away from landmark. Was over 20 and cost a fortune travelling. Poorly advertised. Unclean, was a cockroach in the bath upon arrival. Bathroom not as advertised. Really poor considering I got a junior suite. Staff were completely uninterested. Nobody serving at the bar, had to keep asking reception. Unable to order food, told I had to wait for a buffet?!

Disappointing stay — facilities not as advertised Booked this hotel expecting the facilities advertised, including the spa and pool, but these were closed/unavailable during our stay. That was one of the main reasons for booking, so it felt very misleading and disappointing. The outside areas also looked poorly maintained, with rubbish left around, which gave a bad first impression and made the hotel feel neglected. For the price paid, I expected a much better standard. The hotel needs to be clearer about what facilities are actually available before guests book, and the outside areas need proper cleaning and upkeep. Overall, not the experience we expected and I wouldn’t rush back.

Hotel at first glance looked nice, but soon as you arrive in reception theirs leaks falling from the ceiling the gym spa an pool are closed down, got put into average rooms thou had booked excecative rooms, so had to be changed, rooms were nice, but residents very noisy an making lots of noise up and down the corridors up to midnight and beyond, doors slamming , Thou room wasn't too bad once we had proper rooms and the bed was probably the best hotel bed I've ever stayed in, WiFi wasn't bad but was inconsistent on and off, views very very nice

Our room was opposite the lift and having arrived late, we were then woken very early (6.10am) by the ding dong sound of the lift as well as the sounds of people talking. The sound insulation along the corridors is awful. The staff kindly moved us to a different room, which helped with the lift sound but not the talking of other residents which started at 7.30am on a Sunday. Due to all the tiled floors sound seemed to reverberate around the hotel. The hotel seems to be going under renovation so I am hoping they will sort out the sound insulation.

The stay was good and the hotel was nice but there was 4 coach loads of younger people there and they were running up and down corridors at two and three in the morning and with marble tiled floors they were very loud.

Hotel inside was very nice. Nice furniture in the reception and bar. Room was nice and everything seemed clean. Outside the hotel looks horrendous. It’s on as a spa hotel but the spa and pool were closed and the games room doesn’t seem to exist. We were rudely wakened at 6.30 with people in the corridor, banging doors and dragging cases, and moving about rooms. We went for breakfast and it was full of foreigners, there wasn’t a clean table for us to sit at and had to stand with our plates waiting until one was cleaned. There was four coaches in the car park taking all these people away after they had been for breakfast. This was not the overnight we expected!!! We left the hotel on the night we stayed and went into Erskine where we found a great wee pub that did lovely food, drinks were reasonable as well. This is a beautiful hotel that’s been totally ruined which is a shame

It seems that the hotel serves mainly group tour visitors. Though the room was clean, everything were of low maintenance.

We found this a bit of a mixed experience. As we arrived very late, we only noticed the exterior the next morning. The building is clearly a 1960/70s structure, and the concrete architecture is quite stark and not particularly appealing. However, It’s clear the hotel is in the process of being refurbished, with the entrance and hallways already completed to a very high standard—they feel grand and welcoming. Unfortunately, this doesn’t quite carry through to all of the rooms. While our room had clearly had some updates, such as fresh paint and relatively new tiles in the bathroom, other areas felt quite dated. In particular, the bathroom overall could benefit from a full upgrade, and the rug in the room was well past its best and would be better removed. The furniture was dated too. That said, we do appreciate that refurbishing a large property takes time, and improvements don’t happen overnight. However, it might make more sense for bedrooms to be prioritised, as they have the biggest impact on guests’ overall experience. We didn’t have the opportunity to try the food or use any of the facilities, as this was a last-minute booking following a delayed flight, so we can’t comment on those aspects.

No staff at check out time. Had to go in the kitchen and found the chef to take the keys! Little or no hot water including radiators. But the food was great and the bar was pleasant, although cold

Hotel is being renovated (poorly) while opened. Bar was cold (both temperature and atmosphere. It is not a comfortable place. It’s also based on Indian culture and not Scottish. I am in Scotland. Not India.
