1. It is more than 100 years old

The construction of Poris Station was not too long ago from Tangerang Station. In fact, the opening was carried out together, on January 2, 1899. And this means that Poris Station itself is more than 100 years old. To be precise, it is 124 years old and still in very good condition.

2. Poris is also the name of the Tangerang bus terminal

For your information, Poris is not only the name of a station in Tangerang but also the same as a bus terminal. This is the largest bus terminal in Tangerang City which is integrated with the commuter line station and also the Soekarno Hatta Airport Train.

3. The Poris Station building was on the verge of being moved

Local residents who use the roads around Poris Station are certainly familiar with traffic jams. Especially during peak hours like going to work or coming home from work. It has so many factors, from naughty drivers to building construction that consumes some part of the road shoulder.

Regarding the frequent traffic jams around Poris Station, the Tangerang City Government (Pemkot) had plans to move Poris Station. There are even representatives from the Tangerang City Government to coordinate with the Indonesian Train Company to discuss moving Poris Station.

However, there has been no news about plans to move Poris Station to reduce traffic jams until now. The Tangerang City Government also has other options for creating flyovers or underpasses. Finally, it was decided to widen the road around the station area. In 2023, the road widening carried out successfully reduced traffic jams.
