Sriwijaya Train
Sriwijaya Railway is present as a mixed-class service train for Executive and Business which is in Special Relation with Station Kertapati (Palembang) -Tanjungkarang Station (Bandar Lampung). PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has authorized the management of this train to the Regional Division 3 Palembang and the 4th Division of Tanjung Karang Regional. For one trip, this train carries up to 534 passengers.
The Sriwijaya Train covers a total distance of 389 kilometers for a one-way trip. This train speeds for 55-100 km per hour, so the trip will take approximately 9 hours. Each day, the Sriwijaya Train provides one journey from Tanjung Karang Station and one journey from Kertapati Station. For the departure point from Tanjung Karang Station, Sriwijaya Train departs at night, exactly at 21.00, to arrive at Kertapati Station at 06.15 tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, the Sriwijaya Railway from Kertapati Station also leaves at 21.00, but arrives sooner at Tanjung Karang Station, at 06.10 the next day. On this route, the Sriwijaya Train stops at several large and small stations. The main ones are Rejosari Station, Bekri Station, Sulusuban Station, Kotabumi Station, Ketapang Station, Tulungbuyut Station, Blambangan Umpu Station, Waytuba Station, Martapura Station, Baturaja Station, Tigagajah Station, Peninjawan Station and Prabumulih Station.
The ticket train fares are available depending on the choices of passenger class. The ticket for Sriwijaya Executive Class train costs between Rp160,000, Rp170,000, Rp180,000, and Rp190,000 per passenger. For Business class, the prices available are varied, between the range of Rp125,000-Rp150,000 per passenger. The prices for the tickets can also change depending on the time of ticket booking, mileage, and travel time of the train. For routes with shorter distances (e.g. Station Kertapati-Station Martapura), ticket fares are offered cheaper, i.e. in the range Rp100.000-Rp155.000.
Since it is a mixed class train, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) pins the facilities which are adjusted to its class selection. The main facilities which available in both Executive and Business classes include air conditioning, LCD TVs, toilets, plugs, small tables and cabin baggage. Exclusive to Executive classrooms, excellent facilities come with a more luxurious seating design with additional folding tables, reading lamps, footrests and positioning adjustment. In addition, passengers can also use blankets and pillows for free on the Executive train.

The origin of the name
Sriwijaya is already familiar in society as the name of the greatest maritime kingdom ever stood in the archipelago. The kingdom of Sriwijaya has a wide area of power to some countries in Southeast Asia. In terms of words, Sriwijaya is a Sanskrit word consisting of the syllable Sri (glow) and Wijaya (victory) which means glorious victory.
The train series
Providing a capacity of 534 passengers, Sriwijaya Railway brings approximately up to five Executive train units and two to three Business class trains in one go. Complementing the services, this train also carries one of the Business Train’s restorations. The towing locomotives used are CC201, CC202 and BB203 models. However, today Sriwijaya KA uses CC204 or CC201 locomotives which are a mutation fleet from Java Island.
The train restoration
As a long-distant train services with Business and Executive passenger classes, Sriwijaya Train provides restoration car. The restoration car is a special carriage for passengers to rest while eating and drinking. The food menu available at Sriwijaya Train is quite diverse, mainly popular national foods. The menu includes Fried Rice Ampera (Nasi Goreng Ampera), Rice with Crispy Chicken, Rice with Grilled Chicken, Rice Mixed with Chicken with Spicy Balado Flavour (Nasi Campur Ayam Balado), and various snacks and hot and cold beverages.
