DAMRI (Djawatan Angkoetan Motor Repoeblik Indonesia) is a bus operator that has become a part of Indonesia’s history. In addition, DAMRI has become one of the trusted bus operators, in Indonesia and abroad, along its 70 years of service. DAMRI’s journey began in the era of Japanese colonization in 1943. During that time, the Japanese government established two transportation companies, Jawa Unyu Zigyosha to transport goods and Zidosha Sokyoku for passenger transportation. To provide their services, Jawa Unyu Zigyosha used a cart pulled by a pair of oxen and a truck, while Zidosha Sokyoku used buses. After Indonesia declared its independence in 1945, both transportation companies were nationalized and managed by the Transportation Agency (the Ministry of Transportation). The name Jawa Unyu Zigyosha was changed to Djawatan Pengangkoetan, while Zidosha Sokyoku was transformed into Djawatan Angkoetan Darat. The two companies were finally merged on 24 November 1946 and become known as DAMRI. Since that moment, DAMRI had undergone many transformations. DAMRI was once the State Company General Management Agency (BPUPN) in 1961. When BPUPN was abolished in 1965, DAMRI was transformed into a Government Company (PN). In a further development, DAMRI became a Public Company (Perum) in 1984. The status was later completed with the government regulation PP No. 31 Year 2002. Until today, this government-plated transportation company has been able to survive the fierce competition of land transportation companies. Headquartered on Jl. Matraman Raya No. 25, East Jakarta, DAMRI is still a favorite mode of transportation for many people. This was proven DAMRI’s success to record a revenue over Rp1 trillion in 2013. In addition, the company also received many other achievements, such as obtaining the ISO 9001:2015 certificate for the first time, the Wahana Adhiguna 2017 award from the Ministry of Transportation, the second best safety transportation 2016 award from the Ministry of Transportation, an award from the Ministry of Transportation as the 2017 Lebaran transportation organizer, an award from Garuda Indonesia for its service in eight Hajj embarkations, and many others. The DAMRI fleet can be found in almost every region in Indonesia with a total of nearly 3,000 units. Its main services include city buses, intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) buses, cross-border transportation, airport shuttle bus service, tourist charter buses, and logistics transportation. In addition, DAMRI as a state-owned company (BUMN) is not merely a profit-oriented company. It plays a significant role in providing transportation within a number of isolated routes in the country. This noble mission is a duty given by the government, in order to provide land transportation services that can advance people’s mobility and transportation of goods in remote areas. For the reasons stated above, DAMRI has always applied the culture of smart motivation, integrity, learning, and enthusiasm so they can continue to improve their service and provide comfort to passengers. Passenger failing to arrive at the boarding point on time cannot ask for a refund.
Departure time, bus type, and bus route can change without prior notice due to operational reasons.
After booking is complete, your bus ticket cannot be canceled and you cannot ask for a refund.
You cannot change your bus schedule after booking is complete.
