I stayed at Hollies Halifax for 5 days. We arrived late the first day (Wednesday) and was told AC broken for the hotel. We stayed on the 9th floor ... flat roof with a day temperature of 30C. A hot stuffy room was our welcome! No windows at all. We requested a fan,. the fan was very loud with a broken nob that we cannot adjust. We had no choice but utilize the fan for air, but the fan was so noisy we cannot hear the TV. AC was restored on Friday! Aside from the fan issues, we like the location ... step away from the waterfront.

The Cannery had an excellent breakfast, happy hour and dinner menu and with great staff attention. I enjoyed the pool almost every day. The suite was perfect and as advertised. The staff provided a standing, oscillating fan for a couple of unexpectedly hot days where the sun heated up the windows and therefore the room. So minor problem solved quickly and efficiently.

Awesome hotel in a great location, amenities were certainly adequate for what is required when on vacation, but what really makes the place special are the staff, front desk staff were great without exception, the most welcoming I’ve had at any hotel and we’ve seen a lot, special mention to Calum in the bar/restaurant who spent several nights with us chatting and keeping us entertained, but every single member of staff was excellent! Highest compliment I can say is 110% we’ll be back! Fabulous job by a fabulous hotel

Lovely place to stay - very close to many restaurants and historical sites.

We felt like the room was very spacious and luxurious with updated amenities. A couple things were not in working order, but we still really liked our room.

The AC was broken in the entire hotel - none of the windows open - the room was so awfully hot that we did our best to stay out of it. Sleep was awful due to temperature. Looked forward to the hot tub after a long day of activity - the building was just much too hot for this to be enjoyable. The bathroom floor had a fine dust all over it like baby powder or drywall dust. The staff were very kind and did their best by bringing two small fans to our room.

I went shopping and left my items in the room. The next day one of my shopping bags was missing. I am not making the accusation that it was stolen by the staff, but it could have been thrown away flag the staff accidentally.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was larger than expected. Room was clean, but there was some paint scraped off the bathroom door and what looked like a water stain on the ceiling in one corner. Some thing's were dated and the paint could he touched up in a few places. Ultimately still definitely more than worth what I paid.

Great place to stay, close to the waterfront with amazing restaurants.

The hotel was fine. Well located. Parking is off site. It was over priced for what it was though. Also, the air conditions wasn’t working and the room was sweltering. I would not stay there again.

One of the female front desk staff was short and made me feel very embarrassed.i think she was if Eastern European decent . Possibly Ukrainian . She processed the wrong credit card for payment without asking me and it was denied. Which I knew it would be because I only have a $500 limit on that card for the purpose of being wrongly charged. It was only to hold the room. Her entire face and attitude changed like I was some kind of criminal. I gave her another card I actually wanted it on for points purposes and it was fine . But her glare and stone face was ridiculous.

Only stayed the one night but good service, great staff and room was nice with water view. Bed was comfy overall good stay we would rent from there again.

I love the place but the breakfast, we use to eat at the buffet on the lounge but they move to the restaurant on the lower level at the hotel for me its better on the lounge near at the reception area more cozy,

Our room was very hot.

Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. And we loved the cookies at the front desk.

The rooms were a decent size.

The Cannery is a great restaurant.
