We found the Mercure staff , particularly reception and the bar staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The only downside was that we had major problems with the tv, which was unwatchable andthe staff said that there were problems with the aerial

We had high hopes when we pulled up as it was a stunning building from the outside. Parking was £10 a night which was way too much! There was nothing around so it wasn’t even to deter people from parking and going elsewhere. We booked as it said it had air conditioning - but it definitely didn’t! We got a plug in fan that was like someone trying to cool us with breath from its nose! We had to go and purchase a fan nearby setting us back £45. It was tired, holes in the wall, tiles missing, rusty taps. This was no where near a 4 star standard. Will not be returning

My stay at the Mercure Hotel in Pembury was okay. My room was on the ground floor and adequate. The bathroom was very clean and cleaned for the three days that I stayed there. The bed was made and the room was clean daily and I have no complaints about it. The room was adequate for my needs.. The only slight grumble I have is that I did not find the staff very friendly. Sometimes there was nobody on reception at all and when I went to check out, I couldn’t see anybody around and was unable to check whether I owed any money or not. On the other hand, it is very reasonably priced so for the money I think it is very good value.

The room was so hot unbearably hot the window would only open a few centimetres. The fan was absolutely useless. The room had been left with the curtains open in the Sun blowing in it all day. It was impossible for either of us to get any sleep. It was like being in a sauna.

Very tired and shabby, can't believe its 4 star, an absolute disgrace that as a resident you have to pay £10 night parking, extractor fan in bathroom not working, toilet seat loose and moves from side to side, rust on the wall from the bath grab handle, sticky tape to repair a cracked window, bedroom furniture chipped and scratched, I found 2 peanuts on the floor which would suggest that the room was not hoovered, as for breakfast we had read other reviews about that and once again it was very expensive, so we went across the road to the garden centre, fantastic selection and great price.

Great location for easy access and plenty of parking space. Really helpful staff and great choice for breakfast. Just one night stay this time, but we would certainly be pleased to stay again in the future.

Staff excellent, welcoming and helpful. Good value hotel. Only downsides had to pay for parking which seems a liberty considering where the hotel is. It’s not a town centre hotel. If they’d added it to the hotel price we wouldn’t have noticed

Overall it was a good stay. The only issue I had was that you have to pay an overnight car parking fee and this wasn’t disclosed on Expedia. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly too.

Beautiful food with a lovely clean room and plenty of parking

The hotel was goodnight stay with towel and a gift on bed which was a nice touch. It was easy to find and reception has cups of water if you want . The only things is that you have to pay £10 a night for parking which should either be part of room price or be told in advance. Easy to Christ just have to put key in a checkout box

All staff were very friendly and helpful with always a big smile. Excellent.

Good for a one night stay as I have used before. However as a £10 parking charge has recently been introduced and I was not made aware of this when booking.
