We went for a surprise anniversary and selected the queen room with harbor view. Was gorgeous but came with impeded view of harbor and construction of a rooftop access area. Not what the advertisements offered. The hotel received my frustration and responded to my concerns promptly and attentively. The focus and attention to my concerns was sincere and most gracious. Thank you to the team. We had a most lovely visit.

Very helpful staff especially when we asked them to fix small issue inside the washroom. In addition, staff were helpful when we try to navigate Fairmont Empress parking area which was confusing at start. Moreover, cleaning staff were amazing and always made the room clean and organize. Lastly, breakfast sausage was good with excellent drip coffee that made my brain focus and alive! During breakfast, the staff were accomodating when we told them that we are going to join whale watching tour. They did their best and made sure that our breakfast were done before the cut off time of the tour. We made it before the cut off time and saw three humpbacks!!! Keep up the good job guys and gals, and thank you for looking after us!

We just loved the Empress. The service and the accommodations were top notch. The location is ideal! Can’t wait to return. We had brunch in the breakfast dining room and it was the best meal of our week-long trip.

Not impressed.

Beautiful outside, perfect location for walking. Hotel has tiniest of bathrooms, common to old hotels No lobby coffee, which I find unacceptable. Manager offered to deliver coffee next morning. Up and ready at 6:30… never showed. So, all in all, I’d stay somewhere else next time. Not worth it

The bathtub is not senior friendly, has no handle, we enjoyed the rainshower, however an additional hand-held shower head is missing.

We stayed in a good room which we had never done before. It was nice to be able relax, play games, have a drink, and relax with a beautiful view. All the staff we encountered were amazing, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable!

The Fairmont Empress is a beautiful hotel with a stunning property right in downtown Victoria. We couldn’t have asked for a more central location to explore the city.

Honestly was soo disappointed. I’m a Fairmont girl through and through. I saw how they advertised and pride themselves in being a super pet friendly hotel. This was so far from the truth. I have three dogs and there was no dog bowls, no water bowls, no dog beds. And in addition, no dog menu or treats!?! No treats?! They were informed of all of my info upon booking. I was shocked at how poorly my pets were treated as “guests” in such an “iconic” hotel. Didn’t bring much pet food as I was planning to order from their menu but they didn’t have one. So many 5 stars I’ve been to with my dogs had them and so that was surprisingly disappointing
