I had a very disappointing experience at Sheraton Fallsview Hotel.
We were initially assigned a room on the 3rd floor, and despite requesting a higher floor, both the reception staff and manager were quite reluctant and insisted that nothing else was available. However, upon entering the room, we were shocked to find that it had not been properly cleaned. Even worse, the fridge still contained food left behind by a previous guest — completely unacceptable for a property of this standard.
After raising the issue with housekeeping, we were suddenly “upgraded” to the same category of room but on a higher floor — which clearly contradicted what the front desk manager had told us earlier about availability.
To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning in the room. We were informed that due to the building’s system, it operates on either heating or cooling depending on the season, and since it was spring, the AC had not yet been turned on. Instead, we were given a fan for the night.
It’s hard to justify paying premium rates for a supposed 4-star hotel that lacks basic cleanliness, proper climate control, and courteous customer service. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing stay.
