One of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at. Large rooms, beautifully decorated, comfortable spaces and courtyard. Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Great location steps from the arch. Could not recommend it more.

This is such a gorgeous hotel - every aspect of our stay was beautifully appointed (rooms, courtyard, breakfast areas) and the staff were just lovely. It’s also super centrally located close & walkable to the major sites and, but you don’t step out into anything touristy. The breakfast was spectacular too

Beautiful boutique hotel right in the center of everything. Breakfast in the garden was a beautiful and peaceful way to start the morning. Staff was very helpful when we had issues with our transportation to our next location. Room was spacious and lovely.

I adore this hotel !! The feeling is I’m in someone’s luxury home. With southern Spain sensible design, the courtyard is my dream garden. Unfortunately I didn’t have chance to have breakfast during my stay because of my schedule.

We recently stayed here from the states. From the moment we stepped onto their property, we were well taken care of. From coffee as well as ham and swiss chesse sandwiches, great breakfast options to the friendly smiles and welcoming conversation. We were very comfortable here. Everything was clean, the garden area and fountains were beautiful. Artwork was displayed everywhere. If ever in Antigua Guatemala again, We would definitely stay here. I highly recommend this place! Thank you everyone for the experience!

Most likely one of the nicest places to stay in Antigua. The architecture and space is unbelievable. We loved every minute of it. They even lit a fire in our rooms personal fireplace. We will be back!

A beautifully maintained traditional hotel. The room was spacious, it was very peaceful and had a lovely fragrance from all the lovely fresh flowers. The location was excellent. They lit candles in the courtyard in the evening which was delightful. The staff at the hotel were excellent. Professional and very helpful.

This boutique hotel was a beautiful, quiet little sanctuary in the heart of Antigua. The location couldn’t be any better considering you are right next to the Santa Catalina Arch and walking distance from everything you would need. From the staff to the owner of the hotel, everyone was so nice and helpful and gave great recommendations in the area. It’s also super helpful that they can organize private shuttles to and from the airport along with going to Lake Atitlan for an extra charge. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone coming to Antigua for a couple days.

The hotel is beautiful, quiet, safe, and cozy, perfectly located near La Merced Church, and the principal park , museums, ATMs, stores, and bars. The entrance is on a peaceful side street, so it’s easy and safe to access. The staff were very polite and helpful, they arranged my airport transfers and a private volcano tour, which was amazing and better priced than outside agencies. Everything was well organized, saving me time since they handled it all. There’s no air conditioning, but the fans and open windows kept the room comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the beautiful setting made it even more enjoyable. Thanks San Rafael.

San Rafael is an exceptional property — one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at in the world. The design perfectly strikes a balance between historical, luxurious, and boho-chic. The common areas — luscious gardens peppered with art and cozy seating — are the perfect respite from the bustling streets of Antigua. The location is stellar, just steps from the Santa Catalina Arch but feeling serene, secure, and worlds away. And the service is top notch. Staff is friendly but unobtrusive. Breakfast is also the best I’ve had in a hotel in Guatemala: fresh, generous, and filling.
