Overall stay was ok and staff were friendly and professional. Very handy for station and city centre Room was quite small and squeezing round bathroom door was awkward. Mattress was too hard.

Lovely stay. Room clean and spacious. Door lock a little temperamental. Close to the centre and right on the canal. Quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was fresh and very good with lots of hot and cold options. Staff were friendly. The onsite restaurant is very good for dinner.

Room was clean though needed a bit of TLC, (window handle was hanging off, just needed screwing back up) staff were fantastic, nothing a problem. Bar and breakfast were both super.

The “ public “ areas of the hotel were very modern and inviting. The reception area was spacious and well appointed. The staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant/breakfast room was large and well laid out. The breakfast was good, a bit short on cereal choice, but the selection of cooked foods was very good. The bar was a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the wide range of drinks and bar food. Our room however, was a very different matter. The bedroom area was small with limited storage. The mattress was not very comfortable, somewhat on the lumpy side. The on-suite was straight out of the ‘70’s. The over bath shower was fed from the taps so every time it was used or turned off the flow and temperature had to be reset, time consuming and frustrating. The condition of our room did detract from the enjoyment of our stay, which is a pity, because the hotel is in a great location, a short walk from the city centre. Parking is also available, at a price.

Nice place but the “deluxe” room was dated, no fridge and the window seal was broken so cold air blowing in badly and practically zero sound reduction meant listening to everyone’s conversations walking past outside. Only one light fixture working in the room. Extractor in the bathroom was pretty useless, rendering the mirror useless even 30 mins later. Toilet flush made more noise than a tractor starting. Pool was great though. Nice breakfast too. If they could fix these basic things it’d improve the experience.

Nice hotel within walking distance of the train station and town centre. Large room..which would benefit from a set of drawers though! Shower pressure wasn't great but overall we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was nice but no pastries etc...if you didn't want a cooked one there wasn't much else. Good value...quiet location....we were glad not to be in the city centre on a Saturday night! Pool was lovely after a day of shopping.

Front Desk Staff were very helpful. When I didn’t have the correct charger for my phone, they kindly lent me one, when that wouldn’t work, a member of staff personally lent me hers !

Room was very clean , comfy bed , breakfast was not great , very raw looking bacon , sausages undercooked and not very hot.lady at the press cooked my sausages again in the kitchen , and we ordered poach eggs that were fresh. Breaskfast was a let down , but overall stay was good .

Our standard double room was pretty small and the ensuite was small and definitely 'a bit tired'. Room cleaning (specifically the toilet pan) wasn't very good. The bar was fine and the bar food was good. Breakfast was unlimited, but wasn't the best we've had. The grilled tomatoes were under-cooked and the toast was completely unwarmed on one side (on each of our 3 days). The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel location, next to the elevated main road, isn't idyllic, but there are a couple of good pubs a short distance along the canal (out of town). However, the location is a great spot from which to explorer Chester on foot. The car park costs £12 per day but was vital.
