Overall, the room was clean and comfortable, but there were a few things that could be improved. First, there was no proper desk or workspace in the room, which was inconvenient as I needed to work on my laptop. Second, drinking water was not provided in sealed bottles. Instead, a pitcher was provided for guests to refill from a dispenser in the corridor. I understand this may be the hotel’s system, but personally I did not feel comfortable using it. The most disappointing part was the service when I requested additional towels. The staff member folded the towels in front of my room. When I asked whether they were fresh towels and why they were being folded there, the response was simply, “You can smell them.” I found this response unprofessional and it did not reassure me about the cleanliness of the towels. The hotel itself is generally comfortable and clean, but I hope the service and attention to guest concerns can be improved.

My experience staying at Harper Palembang was comfortable, with good parking and lobby access, especially for me with elderly parents and young children. The service was also friendly. The hotel service was excellent. The breakfast was varied and delicious, truly satisfying for travelers longing for Palembang cuisine. There was yellow rice, tekwan, empek-empek, and even martabak in curry sauce. Overall, it was great. If I ever come back to Palembang, I'll definitely stay here again.
