What a beautiful, majestic hotel. There is history everywhere. We even did a tour of the hotel, which was very enjoyable. The service was excellent by every staff member we encountered. The breakfast buffet is excellent! The old CP Hotels never disappoint.

The hotel was very crowded with what appeared to be large tour groups, congesting the lobby and the ingress/egress through the drive through to the main entrance. There was no help from the front door staff to move traffic along or assist incoming guests with the door. Unfortunately, we were never able to experience the beautiful bar. It was always too full according to the host. But on Saturday night we did see empty tables inside. We had one negative experience when we returned from an evening out to find our room less clean than we left it after service by the evening cleaning staff. All that being said, this is a lovely hotel in a charming city. If you have an option, pick your stay in an "off season."

Unfortunately during my stay, the bar was being remodeled. Though it was still open there was a curtain covering most of the room. I was seated at a table basically in the hallway - this did not work for me. I'm sure all will be great when the project is finished.
