We were okay with room however lighting was insufficient, for example when using the coffee machine we needed to use our phone flashlight. let say to use the coffee maker we had to use phone. The cleaning lady did not clean our toilet, bath tub and did not restock tissues so I had to call for each individual thing. The room was spacious but did not have enough outlets for electronics. I took pictures of the uncleaned toilet and bath tub and showed it to the property management. One other thing was that the bellmen was not engaged with their jobs and chatting with the their colleagues, it’s kind of unprofessional.

We stayed at the end of January and overall enjoyed our visit. The staff were friendly, and the property was clean and well maintained. That said, I wouldn’t quite place the experience at a true 5‑star level. The historic charm is really what elevates the hotel, so guests shouldn’t expect top‑tier luxury service or amenities. My only real criticism is the pool situation—there’s just one, and it was consistently filled with kids playing and yelling, which made it tough to relax. On the positive side, the location is fantastic. It’s perfectly situated for exploring both the upper and lower parts of the city. All in all, it was a very cool experience staying in such an iconic building, and the service was solid.

Everything regarding the hotel was fabulous as well as the staff. Regarding the restaurant for evening dining, I would have preferred the “option” for a set menu as well as a La carte choices. While it was delicious, I was disappointed in such a limited menu.

The room was clean and well appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful especially the valets and baggage clerks. One in particular was great to talk to about Hockey and even wrote his own book about the old Nordiques. Very nice and charming man with a lot of knowledge! The only thing we were unhappy about was the Hotel De Glace Dinner Experience. The trip includes a shuttle to/from the Fairmont Hotel to the HdG, a guided tour and dinner in the HdG. The price is $255CAN per person so it is very steep. Our problems are that we were already staying at the HdG and didn't need transportation or the tour since it was part of our HdG stay package already. We really just wanted dinner so there really should be a separate price for those that just want to eat dinner without all of the frills. They would probably sell more tickets if they did this. Also, when you buy the package, it tells you the reservation is for 5:30PM but that is not for dinner. That is for the departure from the Fairmont to HdG. Dinner doesn't start until 7:30PM! So, we arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 expecting to eat then but no one was around. We had to call and find out what was really happening. It should be made clear in the reservation that transportation is at 5:30 and dinner starts at 7:30. I believe both of these can be easily fixed by the Hotel and would help guests in the future.
