Lovely spa but room is cleaned every alternate day. We found ourselves making our own beds out of force of habit. Otherwise a lovely place with great views.

I love staying here, lovely setting in the middle of the peak district. Some of the rooms are a bit tired though and could do with a coat of paint

We stayed at Shrigley Hall and had a mixed but generally enjoyable experience. The infinity pool, evening (dusk) setting, and massage were all excellent highlights of the stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location and the bathroom in our room was very nice. However, the room itself felt quite basic and lacked comfortable seating, and it was quite a long walk from the main hotel. There was also no phone in the room, which was an issue as we couldn’t contact reception about a missing door lock. Overall, some great facilities and experiences, but a few areas that could be improved.

Spa ok prob not worth £60each. Main bar and restaurant needs a good lick of paint and bar looks like a gritty pub, carpets need a good clean. Some Nice rooms in building then lots of bad ones, corridors to rooms were smelly and in poor condition

While the Hotel is in a super location it is in need of updating. There was no drawers in the room to put clothes in and room157 had water dripping from a light fitting in the bathroom. This has obviously happened for some time as there was staining on that part of the ceiling. I reported this to reception as we checked out. There was no lu brush and we had to ask for another toilet roll as only one half used was provided. The food was average. Not somewhere we would stay again

The hotel grounds are stunning. But that's where the positives end. Room was filthy on arrival. We had to ask for it to be hoovered, which was done. Bed mattress was very old, springy and uncomfortable. Pillow was lumpy and had no support. Once you flush the toilet, you had to wait for at least 30min for it to fill up again. Just outside our window was a very noisy air con unit that was on all night long. It was impossible to sleep with an open window. The SPA for which we had to pay extra was lacking in facilities and cleanliness. Overall, I had a much better stay in the premier Inn for a third of the price.

We stayed in a family room and to be honest it was completely run down. There were water stains on the walls which looked like there was a leak. Only 2 out of 4 of the lights worked. And the 2 that did had different coloured bulbs in. The bathroom was clean however the bath panel was awful and needed replacing and the shower was a nightmare to try and work. The room overall really needs updating. We felt like because it was a family room it had just been out at the back of the hotel and neglected. Breakfast was okay. They had our jam out instead of ketchup and the eggs were very greasy. We wouldn’t return which is such a shame as the hotel itself looks lovely as soon as you walk in.

Room 118 was right over the kitchen extractor and the noise was very loud and did not go off at 2200-2230 as told by Reception. Impossible to have the window open, but no air con in the room so it was stiflingly hot. Grateful for the fan provided on request, but still a poor experience. No accessible sockets near bed. Setting gorgeous, but room functionality very poor

We only stayed for 1 night with our dogs, the grounds of the hotel are stunning with lovely views. We were only given 1 bottle of water for our room, when booking I was advised the additional supplement for pets would ensure plenty water in the room, this was not the case but we had plenty with us anyway so didn't see the point in mentioning it. We pet friendly restaurant was lovely albeit dirty wine glasses on the tables covered in lipstick. The starer came out way to quick literally took our order and bang it was on the table. Overall we enjoyed our stay just needs a little attention to detail.

The hotel is very dated and not as well maintained as the photos look. Furniture along the halls on the 3rd floor that were oddly placed. We paid £80 in addition to the stay, for the spa (price for a couple) and it was not worth it, it felt overbooked so had to wait to move between the facilities, floor tiles moved around the jacuzzi, food in the spa wasn’t great. We got to our hotel room at 9:30 after the twilight spa to find the electricity wasn’t working, we had to wait in the dark for someone to come and fix the fuse. Treadmill screen broke in the gym so was unable to track workout. Golf course looked amazing but unfortunately we were not there for a golf trip. Overall disappointed for the price we paid and would not recommend or be returning.

Unfortunately this hotel was not what the photos highlighted. I appreciate it is an old building but it was very worn. The reception area was cold and the man on reception was only concerned about the wedding guest that were staying. Not helpful at all. Food was overpriced in the bar area. Cold dark and dingy is the only way to describe this place.
