Surprised my partner with a stay here for his 50th birthday, Wednesday to Friday in July. Highly recommend travelling in via the cable car from the O2 - him commenting "Oh look at that massive yacht" and then me wandering up to it and him being gobsmacked was great. He was suitably impressed! We had a balcony room facing the ExCel, which was lovely. Breakfast included was buffet style and was good each day we were there. For the price, I was really quite impressed - regular hotels elsewhere in the city were the same or more, and the shops and restaurants in the local area with tables outside felt quite Mediterranean, which gave us even more of a proper holiday vibe. A few tiny tweaks that would bring the experience to the next level for us - we set the air con to cold but it never really got too much cooler than the outside temperature. The grouting in the tiles in the bathroom was grimy (I know this is hard to keep clean) and there were a few broken tiles if you looked for them. The pod coffee machine was a nice touch but the cups were the size of thimbles and the coffee overflowed into the saucer - and I'd prefer a bigger cup for my tea as well, three swallows and it was gone! Also the tiny water cartons in the fridge felt a bit pointless - bigger glasses to fill from the tap would have been better in my opinion. Also, we tried to check out online as suggested but it didn't work so we had to go to reception anyway. For the right price though, I'd definitely stay again.

A really good find, lots of space for a London hotel. High-quality makes you feel special. Right on the river so fun to have drinks in the basin overlooking the cable cars and the millennium dome. Very easy to get to by transport in particular the Elizabeth line makes getting around London feel like cheating. A rather iconic looking hotel as well just makes you feel kind of special.

This is a remarkable hotel. A huge floating yacht in a very unusual setting. Fast train to London ( minutes) it's great for the Excell centre. It's very cool sitting in the back of the yacht drinking champagne. It's not particularly cheap but it's worth for a special occasion. Rooms are well appointed. Note to management: please install usb ports in all rooms! Toilet door is as heavy as a bank vault.

The yacht is lovely, a little dated and tired now (having stayed on and loved the sister yacht in Gibraltar, it really doesn't compare!!!). Room was a great size, bathroom was basic. Nice touches leaving water and a small birthday treat for hubby. Staff were really friendly, until they messed our bar bill up and charged us 3 times what they were supposed to, and then were unable to refund it as they didnt know how!! The managed fixed it for us the next morning, but they way all the waiting staff were inexperienced no one able to take control in the evening let it down. Breakfast was buffet. And plentiful. Was nice to enjoy a drink on the front deck after as the weather was great.

AVOID IF YOU ARE A FAMILY OR HAVE HEALTH CONDITIONS RELATED TO HEAT!! We booked a family room for 09/07 - advertised with air conditioning. NONE OF THE AIR CON WORKS HERE! We had noticed when we ate in the bar earlier but assumed rooms would be ok. We had to complain twice during the evening as it wasn’t working; my eldest daughter was lying in the floor trying to sleep - eventually after midnight someone came. They had no fans (I had to ask), no water offered either. We packed up and went to reception to speak to the manager; it was 12.35am. Her first solution was I was welcome to find another hotel! This is after midnight, in London, with 2 children! I told her this was unacceptable and she then suddenly could find another room. It was on the first floor (we had paid more for a room with a balcony) - the air conditioning also wasn’t working here. She admitted the system wasn’t coping and also said with 4 people in the room it would be worse - a poor excuse, we’ve never had this issue before and, if the system cannot cope, family rooms should not be sold. The manager then asked my husband to help her drag in a camp bed for one of the children. At this point we decided to split, one child and adult in each room. The manager was heavily pregnant and should not have been in a position to drag a bed or ask a guest to do so. By this time it was 1am - we struggled to sleep at all. Neringa the day manager said as the Sunborn is metal it cannot cope with the heat. AVOID!

Check in/out was seamless with pleasant staff. The executive room with water view balcony was lovely and clean. Air con worked nice during the heatwave one night, but was blowing out warm air during our second night which was the only blemish on a fantastic stay. Breakfast was self service and kept nice and hot. There’s a few eating places and convenience stores within a five minute walk. With the Custom House Elizabeth Line train station within five minutes, you’re just less than 20 minutes away from Central London on new air conditioned trains. Would definitely use this hotel again,

Bed was uncomfortable. Two single beds joined together with a thin double mattress put on top. There was a dip down the middle of the bed where there was a gap between the beds. It’s a real shame as the hotel was pleasant and very quiet.

Fantastic stay on this hotel ship. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location if you’re seeing a show at the 02 , as it’s only 15 minutes walk and cable car.
