Hotel was clean and convienent except that the lift did not go all the way to the room floor. This meant dragging 23kg cases down a short staircase. The hotel staff did not mention this upon arrival.

I stayed here for the F1 weekend with some friends and unfortunately our experience didn’t match the expectations set by the price or the photos online. At $739 per night,I expected more, the room was quite small and did not resemble the advertised pictures. The overall cleanliness was also disappointing. While the towels were changed during my stay, the bed itself was not made, which added to the impression that the room hadn’t been properly serviced. For the price being charged, I would have expected a much higher level of presentation, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Hopefully the hotel can improve these areas, as the current experience does not justify the nightly rate.

perfect for 1 night. this was our second time in Great Southern Hotel Melbourne, the first was so much better, the room was bigger and had a window to the street. This time we opened the door and in less than 10 steps the bed was there, so no much room. Also at night I was freezing, not enough blankets. If you only want a place "to crash" just for a sleep and a shower next day it's perfect.
