Doha Airport, officially Hamad International Airport (DOH), is Qatar's main international gateway and the home base of Qatar Airways. It sits on the eastern edge of Doha, beside the Arabian Gulf. One passenger terminal, with five concourses lettered A to E, handles every flight. Qatar has no domestic scheduled flights, so all services here are international.
For Malaysian travellers, Doha can be a destination in its own right or a stop on a longer journey. The older Doha International Airport, about 5 km to the west, is no longer where scheduled airlines fly from, so Hamad is the airport on your ticket.
All airlines use the same passenger terminal. Check-in is in the Departures Hall, and the Arrivals Hall is where you will find the taxi, bus and telecom booths. The departure gates are spread across concourses A to E.
Flights at Doha were suspended for a period and have since resumed through a dedicated flight corridor agreed with the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority. This is a temporary arrangement. Airline partners are returning gradually, and schedules may be adjusted or cancelled at short notice. For now, only passengers with a confirmed ticket can enter the terminal. Check your booking and your airline's updates before you travel.
These airlines are currently operating at Hamad International Airport:
The list is changing as airlines come back, so confirm the operating airline and time on your e-ticket before you head to the airport.
The airport is on the edge of Doha, and the metro is the simplest way into the city. Journey times depend on where you are going and on traffic. Fares are shown at the counter or in the app.
Hamad International Airport T1 station on the Doha Metro Red Line is linked to the passenger terminal. The line runs to central Doha and the city's main districts.
Mowasalat public buses leave from the Bus Pavilion, to the right of the Arrivals Hall, for destinations across Doha.
Official Karwa taxis, run by Mowasalat, wait at the Taxi Pavilion at the left end of the Arrivals Hall. Only taxis from the pavilion are authorised, so do not accept offers inside the terminal.
Ride-hailing cars pick up and drop off at the terminal kerbside.
Car parks sit on either side of the passenger terminal, East and West. You can choose short-term parking for drop-offs and pick-ups, long-stay parking or the Premium Car Park, and there is EV charging on the ground floor of the East Car Park. Valet parking is not available for now. Rates are set by the airport.
Here is what Hamad offers, starting with what travellers ask about most.
Airline and premium lounges are airside. They include Qatar Airways' Al Safwa First and Al Mourjan Business lounges and the Al Maha lounges. Arrival lounges are available before and after immigration. Entry depends on your ticket class or a paid pass.
Check-in is in the Departures Hall, and the gates are spread across concourses A to E. The Arrivals Hall has the taxi, bus and telecom booths. A free shuttle buggy is available for passengers who need help getting around.
Restaurants and cafés are spread through the terminal and the concourses.
The Orchard is an indoor tropical garden with a water feature inside the terminal, a pleasant place to stretch your legs between flights.
Designated smoking rooms are provided in the terminal. Smoking is only allowed in these rooms.
Prayer rooms are found throughout the terminal, with separate areas for men and women and ablution facilities. A public mosque also stands just outside the terminal, within walking distance of the Departures Hall.
ATMs and currency exchange counters are in the terminal. Free Wi-Fi covers the whole terminal on the #HIAQatar network, and free internet kiosks are available, including at the boarding gates.
Two medical centres open 24 hours: one in the Arrivals hall before passport control, and one in the Departures hall near check-in.
Parents' rooms, baby changing rooms, child strollers and companion toilets are available, along with play areas and family lanes.
Baggage services and lost property desks are in the terminal, along with a baggage repack area.
Check-in usually opens 3 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before. For now, the airport advises arriving at least 3 hours before your flight, and only ticketed passengers can enter the terminal.
If you are connecting at Doha, check your airline's transfer rules and whether you need to pass through immigration. If Qatar is your destination, check the current entry requirements for your passport before you fly. For updates on the day, use the Traveloka flight status page.
The fare cards on this page show fares from Doha to popular destinations. Further down, a Hamad International Airport flight schedule lays out upcoming departures and arrivals by date, with the airline and planned times for each. It shows a selection of flights, and schedules may shift while operations recover, so search your own dates to confirm.
Set a Price Alert if you would like to wait for a better fare. Once you book, your e-ticket is emailed to you and saved in the Traveloka app. Popular routes from Doha include:
