Instructions how to use the air-conditioner! Staff should be knowledgeable about the Vivid event. I asked about how to get to one venue…. The Goods Line and they didn’t know what I was talking about. The Google directions were a bit confusing. The start of it was just under Railway Square!

Loved my room, great view of the busy George St intersection. Easy access to Train and buses.

After living in this hotel with my family of 4 for 7 nights, I like how convenient it is, with various food options and the train, metro and bus stop right by the hotel. Popular places like chinatown, surry hills and george street are just a bus/tram ride down. The airport is only an 18min train ride away, which is very accessible.

Hotel air conditioning in the room Have previously stayed here many times but most recently experienced issue with air conditioning in the room. It emitted loud, disruptive noises every 10–15 minutes and persistent water sounds through the unit and wall. Reported issue to staff for it to be rectified. We were offered a later check-out and an apology. Once then we made contact with hotel manager who also offered an apology and stated they issue would be looked into, plus some other plans for hotel upgrades. were courteous and stated they would arrange for a system reset. I was also offered a late check-out for today as a gesture. Unfortunately the noise continued throughout the night, significantly affecting our comfort and rest. At check-out this morning (approximately 10:00am), I raised the issue again when I was asked about our stay at the hotel. I received an apology from the staff member (Daisy), who assured me it would be passed on to you. Additionally, I reflected on the stay when leaving the hotel thinking that the property is looking tired, not reflecting the quality typically associated with the Mercure brand. Our experience at the buffet breakfast also left us questioning the quality the hotel seeks to promote, so all combined with what we paid for the one night's accommodation, we have been left very underwhelmed and will make the choice not to stay at Mercure Sydney in the future.

The indoor swimming pool and the area of the swimming pool are not heated enough.

We had a great stay at the Mercure for a family trip to take my daughters to their first concert and Vivid Sydney. The location is awesome being so close to Central station and other public transport as well as easy walking distance to Chinatown and Darling Harbour. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the buffet breakfast was delicious! The only issue we had was it was difficult to contact the staff if we needed help with anything, I rang through the in room telephone and got no answer on several different lines and on another occasion when I was right in front of the concierge desk to ask a question about the closest light rail station the 2 staff members there just continued on with a personal conversation and didn’t even acknowledge me until I went to walk away. Other than this the staff were very friendly and helpful and check in and out was a breeze. I would definitely recommend staying here 😊

Rooms have been renovated nicely. There is a bar on the ground floor which was rowdy and excessively active

I came to Sydney to watch Les miserables. The accommodation was close to the ICC and transport. It was comfortable, clean, and affordable. We both enjoyed the breakfast and the service was impeccable. We will stay here again.
