This is a wonderful hotel. The staff are geniuses at making guests smile. As soon as we entered the hotel, the person at the luggage storage came to collect our suitcases with a big smile. When we told them that dinner time had started, they quickly checked our tickets and let us go straight to the restaurant. After dinner, when we checked in, a courteous room attendant carried our luggage to our room and showed us around. They even showed us how to use the shower. We also learned that the cafe, which had been crowded all day, was empty when we passed by after dinner, so we went in. I told a young staff member that I wanted to sample the Neapolitan, Doria, and Pudding à la Mode, but I couldn't eat them all, so I would just eat the Neapolitan and Pudding à la Mode first. They suggested, "Then how about we divide it 70% of each so you can try everything?" I thought that it's becoming rare to find hotels these days that respond to guests' requests and offer suggestions, but this hotel still retains the good old customs. At the front desk when we left, they didn't blame us for our mistakes and provided service with smiles, making me decide in my heart that this is a wonderful hotel and that I will definitely return. I would like to bring my sons with me next time. Thank you so much. I wish all the staff happiness and continued success.

My mom and I stayed in this hotel towards the end of our 2 week trip in Japan. There were a few times we left hotels this trip saying that we want to come back, but this became the only one I actually made a rebooking for already.
The hotel and room itself is beautiful and clean, the location great, and the staff were amazing. They were professional, but still felt friendly and warm, from the staff welcoming us outside the hotel, to the front desk, and the cleaning staff. Same goes for the waiter and waitresses in Le Normandie.
I am already looking forward to seeing New Grand in Winter, and trying the Christmas meals in the hotel restaurants.
All the staff, from the reception staff to the restaurant staff, were incredibly polite and considerate. Since we had small children with us, we asked the restaurant to serve the food earlier, and since it was a celebration for my parents, we asked them to prepare a dessert plate. They gladly accepted our requests. On the day of the celebration, they were considerate of our children and asked if we wanted some ice cream, which made us feel warm inside. They also prepared a celebratory plate, even though we only requested it over the phone on the day. Thank you so much. We would like to use your service again when we visit Yokohama. Thank you so much.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel New Grand Yokohama. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, and the location was perfect—within easy walking distance of both Yokohama Chinatown and Motomachi.
This was a special birthday trip for my elderly mother, and we were deeply touched when the staff member who escorted us to our room wished her a happy birthday. That thoughtful gesture made our stay even more memorable.
The traditional Japanese breakfast was exceptional, with outstanding quality and attention to detail.
What impressed us most was how well the entire hotel is maintained. It was clear that everyone—from the maintenance team to the hospitality staff—takes great pride in caring for this beautiful historic hotel.
Thank you for making our stay so special. We would be delighted to return on our next visit to Yokohama.
The property is great parts of it are dated but it is old , the best part of the stay was the staff, they are exceedingly friendly and go out of their way to assist you. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were very comfortable, it is well located and has an excellent view.
