Kuala Periang is one of the districts located in Langkawi Island, a duty free island. It is located 10 kilometres off north from Pantai Cenang in the western part of Langkawi Island. Kuala Periang is situated along the route to Pantai Kok.

How to Get There

By Plane

There are flights offer to Langkawi Island by domestic airlines such as AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, Malindo and Firefly. Guests then can take up taxi or rent a car to go to Kuala Periang. The journey only takes up 9 minutes from the airport area.

By Boat

To get to Langkawi Island from the mainland Malaysia, guests will need to ride on a boat or ferries that are provided at the Kuala Perlis Jetty Station. Journey only takes up 75 minutes from the jetty station to Kuah Jetty, near the Eagle Square in Langkawi. When arrived at the jetty area, guests can ride up on a taxi or rent a car to get to Kuala Periang.

Gunung Mat Cincang

It is one of the most well-known mountains in Langkawi Island. This mountain is also the second highest mountain in Langkawi and is famous for its splendid overview being offered to the tourists for them to enjoy. At Gunung Mat Cincang also is where the Langkawi Cable Car situated at.

Langkawi Cable Car

Langkawi Cable Car offers a 15-minute ride which excites the tourists with is great view to the top mountain of Gunung Mat Cincang. Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls

This waterfall is named after the seven natural pools along its path. Local legend has it that there are fairies used to come to the pools to bathe. There are 2 different areas at the waterfall; lower area, which is the base of the waterfall and higher area, which is where the 7 pools are located at. To get to the 7 pools, you would need to climb approximately 350 stairs which can get a bit slippery when it is wet. Guests also can try on hiking the jungle trekking track to climb up to 2 different mountains.

Langkawi Bird Paradise

Langkawi Bird Paradise is located along Jalan Ayer Hangat. The bird park with its five-acre size is a home to various types of birds with over 2,500 exotic birds from different species such as owls, eagles, hornbills and flamingos. It also offers a walk-in aviary with a 15 metres manmade waterfall. With its vast size of over 10,000sqm and as various birds inhabit this place, it also allows them to fly freely around the premise.
