Built to accommodate the religious needs of the local residents nearby, the mosque is positioned at the deeper part of the neighbourhood. Despite that, it is not far from the main road, in fact, it is located just beside the inner road used by the residents to get to the main road. Therefore, it is easily accessible upon entering Taman Desa Aman, especially with its distinctive feature in comparison to the houses around. The mosque is commonly used by the residents of Muslim faith for various religious activities focusing on the community such as sermons, the mass obligatory of five-time prayers, Quran and hadith studies and many more.

Mengkuang Dam is a man-made dam located in Bukit Mertajam, Penang which is less than 25 kilometres from the landmark. It was officially opened by Dr Tun Awang bin Hassan, the governor back in 1985. Being the only dam situated in the Penang mainland area of Seberang Perai and the state’s second dam after Ayer Itam dam, it has a water catchment area of 3.9 square kilometres and a gross storage capacity of 23.6 billion litres. This makes it the largest dam in Penang with a capacity that is almost 10 times larger than that of Air Itam Dam. In addition of being a water catchment area, it is also popular for recreational purposes, with some of the major events occurring here such as the infamous Penang Dragon Boat Festival which would be held here annually. In this particular event, traditionally built boats with unique dragon motives are brought to race here with helmsmen beating drums following their race till the end of the line.
