Sandos Playacar All Inclusive

The Resort is okay. I feel that if you’re not a member of this resort you will be excluded from most of the areas, activities and restaurants. Other than that the staff is nice and food is good. If you manage to make a reservation on a restaurant I highly recommend you the French

Perfect place

Room service menu was limited and often out of items. Nice place but not so many amenities.

Beautiful hotel, but don’t expect pool side service. If you are use to any other destinations in Mexico like Cabo or Mazatlán, you will have to go to bar to get your drinks and go eat inside the restaurants. The breakfast buffet was great but the dinner situation sucked. Even if you tried to make a reservation they would tell you they were full but if you bought a bottle of wine some how you could get in and once in they places were literally 25% full and staff members standing around. What is the point of all inclusive if you have to pay extra for just basic stuff like dinner. I get they want you to get a time share but I paid more not having a time share! Probably would not return. Our room was very nice though, but the dinner situation and no pool side service really sucked!

We traveled during the month of May as a family of 5 people ( 2 adults and 3 kids age 15, 12, and 9) Let me start by saying the food variety is amazing, ocean is beautiful and staff is super friendly. Ladies on the beach( Claudia and Monse) tend to provide nice entertainment. I highly recommend this resort.

The pools were perfect for all ages! The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. Would travel here again!

Family-friendly

Nice place to stay with kids.

Nice stay, they upgraded our room after the first night since our thermostat didn’t work properly and we got an ocean view. Staff was good, food was better than some other resorts we’ve been to. Beach was nice but learning we prefer ones we can snorkel from. Pools nice, some activities. Overall good value!

Solid 3 star resort! Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our guest services representatives went above and beyond. I lost some jewlery in the spa and they were able to retrieve it! The spa was a great experience! Wild life was fun! Had all the amenities we needed to stay entertained. It is a large resort, required a lot of walking if you did not want to wait for the shuttle. Elevators in our building were not operational. Food was good (not great) throughout the resort. We liked Asana the best for al la carte.

Outdated room

Tuvimos una excelente atención del equipo de Expedia Melisa, Zyanya, Majo y Mar que nos apoyaron en todo momento. Lo único fue que encontramos zargazo en la playa y aunque el staff se preocupaba por limpiar, la verdad si no era tan cómodo estar por allí. Lindo hotel e instalaciones los niños la disfrutaron mucho

arrived at the hotel, firstly it looks out dated, the elevator to our level was not working and then our wrist bands to enter the room didn't work. Once we got a new room sorted, the furniture and pull out sofa was dirty and had stains, the shower water pressure doesn't work properly... and worst yet... bed bugs!!! my son got hit hard the most, the hotel doctor confirmed that the rash all over his body was caused by them... the food it terrible, and the waiting time for the resort transit to get from one area of the resort to the other side is frustrating, I wouldnt waste my time and money on this place. never again..

Over all our stay is good the food are great staff are very friendly and helpful. rooms are always clean. The only. thing I don’t like it’s too far to the beach and most of all the restaurants are fully booked so we have no choice but to always eat at the buffet.. ocean is nice but too many seeweed so it’s hard to play at the sea.

The hotel was beautiful however the main lobby was very hot. The suite we stayed was clean but as we arrive the toilet was broken I have to ask them to fix it twice the sliding door is also hard to open they had to fix it during my stay. My suite was not cleaned everyday unless I put the sign to clean it and I’m not sure If there was a bed bugs in the bed my son was has three bites and got swollen. The food was great and the stuff will friendly but some stuff in the buffet and the pool bar are not welcoming and hard to approach. The massage spa was the best stuff was very friendly and the massage was very good. Over all I will rate my stay 7/10.

Desde el primer momento nos hicieron sentir como en casa, siempre atentos, amables y con una actitud increíble. Un reconocimiento muy especial para Melisa, Zyanya, Majo y Mar, quienes estuvieron pendientes de cada detalle y siempre con una sonrisa. Su dedicación y calidez marcaron la diferencia en nuestras vacaciones. También queremos destacar a Carlos, en el bar de la piscina de adultos, quien nos atendió de maravilla, siempre amable, rápido y con excelentes bebidas que hicieron nuestros días aún más agradables. The Expedia Guest Team, Lyanya, Melisa, Maria and Mar were so helpful. The app wasn't working for us so we asked them to make dinner reservations at the on site restaurants. Thank you, ladies. Eat at the restaurants and avoid the buffet! The resort itself is dated but comfortable. Walking around and learning where everything is easy. Our room was near the ocean, pools, buffet, sports bar and tram, everything needed was accessible. Beach bar closes at 6pm. Don't understand the negative reviews about having to walk as things are a little spaced out. Unless there is a medical reason or age, just take a leisurely walk and burn some calories. STAFF: check in/out, bellboys, maids & drivers were friendly and ready to help. The only real negative was the shower: no hot water and low water pressure. We adjusted and took quick, lukewarm showers. We let staff know but it didn't bother us. INCEDENTALS: bring small bills, $1's ,$5's, 10's for tipping as it's is customary. Use the resort transport company Seek and Go for airport transfers. Just email the resort a few days ahead with air info and they arrange it for you. The reps wear green polo shirts and speak English. Don't use airport taxis. A half mile walk from the resort there is a group of shops/pharmacy for snacks, water, medicine, souvenirs and currency exchange. If needed get a taxi to/from Walmart, the drivers will wait for you. Pina Coladas & Margaritas on the beach? Yes please!! It's a slow pace, laid back vibe so enjoy it.

The property was a bit below average. Nice landscape. Clean room and public areas. However all the amenities inside room or outside are outdated. Staff are not consistent. Some are nice anh helpful. Some are not. Nightly entertainment programs were okay nothing special. Beach area is the only thing that stood out. Easy access, breezy and nice ocean view. Foods are below average. We tried all the restaurants that require reservations. French restaurant was nicely decorated but service was very slow. Foods are average. Italian restaurant got a 3 star out of 5 since some dishes were good (however no AC). El Gaucho got high mark with above average food quality. We ate breakfast there everyday and it was quite good. The Cupcake cafe drinks and pastries were substandard. We tried different pastries and they were all bland. no flavor at all even as simple as croissants. The property lacks of daily activities for young folks. For the prices paid we think it was just okay. We probably will stay somewhere next time. However one thing specifically stood out during our stay. They have a service called Guest Experience where some team members were dedicated to check on guests to assist whatever needed. Our lady (Mayar?) helped us with diner reservations and luggage transfer on check out. They were wonderful and friendly. They made our stay much more comfortable and were willing to change rooms when their elevators broke down for several days

Our stay at Sandos had some major inconsistencies that are worth noting, especially for anyone planning a group trip or wedding. First, a big issue that should have been clearly communicated upfront: only the family/kids side has elevator access. The adult side does not, which created unnecessary inconvenience for several people in our group. That kind of detail matters when you’re coordinating travel for multiple guests. The adult section overall felt outdated, and the WiFi was honestly terrible. For a resort, especially one hosting events like weddings, that’s not a small thing. One of the rooms in our wedding party actually flooded during the stay, which added stress to what should have been a smooth experience. There were also some concerning oversights with event planning. The bridal suite included pork despite the bride clearly requesting no pork months in advance. That’s a pretty significant miss. On a slightly positive note, only one person in our group got sick, which is actually an improvement compared to reviews from a couple of months ago—but still not ideal. Room service was essentially nonexistent. If that’s something you rely on or expect, you’ll be disappointed. That said, I do want to give credit where it’s due. Most of the staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. Ester truly stood out she went above and beyond to accommodate us and made a noticeable difference in our experience. Also, the massage I had with Roz was genuinely pleasant

Clean room, filtered water was provided in the room by the 5 gallons jug. Room is very spacey but could use some updates. Beds are very comfortable
