Very strategic, clean rooms with beautiful views at the front of the grassmarket. The receptionist's name is Sara, she was very helpful to me. I really enjoyed staying here, for me, I'm a halal traveler. I really recommend this place. Near this hotel there is a Zaza cafe, you have to try it.

My experience of staying at Apex was very pleasant. The hotel is strategically close to the city center. In front of the hotel there are lots of restaurants and cafes, many right and left mini-markets that all look pretty similar in medieval times. And the most beautiful, when opening a hotel room window immediately visible Edinburgh Castle. Clean hotel rooms and complete facilities. Plus the breakfast menu is very tasty and varied.

While I would recommend the Apex Grassmarket due to it's outstanding location and helpful staff, I was a tad disappointed in this stay from a quality point of view. First of all, the entry to the hotel from the street is tough with baggage. Several stairs and no porters or staff to assist you. I understand it is much better coming from the car park. Also, there is no AC in the rooms, which wasn't an issue since the weather was so cool and you can open the balcony window, but the curtains in our room fell down (the staff was quite responsive and put them back quickly, but not to the point where we felt like we could touch them again. So, we were unable to close them at night, which meant the room was loud from the street noise and very bright when the sun arose at 4 a.m., the water pressure was basically non-existent in the shower, the soap dispenser was broken...just little annoyances that need to be addressed. The staff was great, everything was clean, and the location is OUTSTANDING. So if some attention to detail happens, I think this can be a winning hotel again.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Apex Market Hotel in Edinburgh. The hotel was clean, the location was excellent, and most aspects of our stay met our expectations. The only issue we encountered was that our room was unusually hot, while the rest of our family’s rooms were comfortable and cool. We contacted the front desk and were told an engineer would be sent to look into the problem, but no one ever came. Fortunately, one of the staff members stepped in and resolved the situation by moving us to a different room, which we really appreciated. While the lack of follow-through on the maintenance request was disappointing, the staff member who helped arrange the room change provided excellent customer service and turned the experience around. Overall, it was a good stay, and with better communication regarding maintenance requests, it would have been an excellent one.

Definitely room needs a "face lift " , carpet needs to go directly to the trash , all bunched up , not even flat on the floor, color of dirt, I can provide a picture , in my opinion could be a hazard for older visitors . any vinyl floor or wood products will be easier to clean and have a nice clean look . Location fantastic but noisy , great view of the Castle above the pubs, places to eat and buildings .

The room was comfortable. The towels were large. It said it was a superior room, but the noise from the street kept me from getting sleep. You have to keep the window open since there is no air conditioning. It would have been nice to have complimentary coffee. There was one cup for each day set up in the room, but without any milk. You had to call the front desk for it which is very inconvenient. They did hold our luggage for 2 days which was very nice. The reason for the low grade was the noise off from the street.

Overall, we were happy with this hotel and had a very enjoyable stay. The biggest selling point was the location, which was excellent, and having a room with a view of Edinburgh Castle made the stay feel even more special. The hotel itself was comfortable and well situated for exploring the city, and in general we found it to be a good base for our time in Edinburgh. There were a couple of minor drawbacks — the room had limited USB charging points, and the bathroom could do with some updating — but neither issue was enough to take away from what was otherwise a very pleasant stay. Parking at the rear of the hotel was limited, although given the central location of the property, that was understandable and not entirely unexpected. Overall, this was a good hotel in a fantastic location, and aside from a few small areas that could be improved, we were pleased with our stay and would consider returning.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, there was no air-conditioning in the room, which was an issue. It was not very hot, but since there was no air-conditioning, we had to leave the window open, which made a lot of noise outside. Someone is always power washing rocks or the street which made us get up early every day. If you are looking for something quiet or need rest, this may not be the option for you because it is noisy. It is in a great location in old Edinburgh.

The hotel is in a great location. There was view of the castle from the window but there are bars and resturants across from where our room was. This was lively and noisy until 1am. The room was hot and stuffy so we opened the window but it barely opened so it had little impact to make the room cooler. The room and bathroom is dated.

There is no ac, they have a fan in the room and the window was open when we arrived. It was still quite muggy and the road and restaurant/bar scene lasts all night long. Strongly recommend that you bring ear plugs. The bed ok, not great. The carpet was loose and rippled. Of our 10 days in Scotland and three different hotels, this one was the worst.
