The location is the best for sightseeing especially around the west lake. Room is Bit old but clean and good size. Maid at my floor was great. Would stay here again for it’s great location.

The property is immense and very beautiful, however it does seem that a bit more care could be given to some aspects of the property. The carpets in particular had a few stains & spills on them across the hallways & in the rooms. The staff are attentive and very helpful, the breakfast buffet was delicious with a wide range of options. The location is exquisite, right on the picturesque West Lake. The property would fit in perfectly into a Wes Anderson film.

Facing the west lake, it is best place to view the west lake. It is near Su Di and Lou Wai Lou, the famous restaurant. Temple Yue is 3 min away. Really love the breakfast there. The ginger tea brought us a warm morning during a code winter time. Two birds in the hotel lobby could green guests. And the most important, the hotel hosted a lot of political leaders in the past.

Shangri-la Hotels, as a brand, is one of my favorite brands. The Shangri-la Hangzhou, overlooking the famous Xihu, is impeccably maintained and clean. The rooms are decently sized and comfortable. The staff is not obtrusive but always present and pleasant. The amenities are commensurate with the type of rooms. It is definitely a great hotel for leisure travel or vacation resort. I'll definitely go there again on my next visit to Hangzhou.
