More about hotels in Iceland
Choose overnight stops for your Iceland route
An Iceland hotel search should follow the parts of the country you want to explore. Reykjavík provides a capital-city stay; towns in the north and along the south coast offer different local bases. Decide whether the holiday centres on one area or follows a route with several overnight stops.
Reykjavík for a city-focused visit
Reykjavík hotels suit a stay where the capital itself belongs in the itinerary. Accommodation here keeps the city setting part of the visit, rather than making every night a stop in a different town.
Northern and southern towns offer different settings
Akureyri is a hub for North Iceland, giving a northern itinerary its own city base. Elsewhere in the north, Siglufjörður offers a smaller town setting framed by mountains. Siglufjörður accommodation suits a route that gives the town and its surroundings time of their own.
On the south coast, Vík provides another kind of setting, between the surrounding glacier landscape and the Atlantic. A southern coastal stop serves a different section of a journey from Reykjavík or the northern towns.
For a trip from the Philippines following several Icelandic regions, choose accommodation for each part of the route. A country-wide result introduces those options, but it should not be treated as one local hotel market or one base for every landscape.
