The hotel is located in the city center, so if you want to go to the Kasunanan Palace, Klewer Market, and Gede Market, it's very close, you can walk. This hotel also has free access to Gedung Juang at night, which is very aesthetic. Across from it is also close to a food court with various culinary delights. This hotel has an aesthetic building, friendly staff, a clean hotel, and a pleasant experience. If you don't want to go to the market to buy souvenirs, you can go directly to BTC. Even so, parking is free, don't forget to claim it at the reception. If I go to Solo, I will stay here again.

The hotel was excellent. I thought the room would be small, but it wasn't. I've tried NEOs everywhere (Bali, Jogja, and Solo) and have never been disappointed. The receptionist service was also excellent and greeted me warmly. The valet service was professional and reliable, considering the limited parking area around the hotel.

First time on holiday to Solo. Was confused about choosing accommodation. Finally found this and booked for 1 night first, junior suite type. When we got there, the atmosphere was really nice, felt like home, cool, quiet, the surroundings were also not noisy, there was a garden and swings for children to play, breakfast while looking at the garden really felt like home. All the staff were very friendly. Asked what kind of welcome drink would you like, can ask for extra towels because there were 4 of us. We added 2 more nights even though we moved to a superior room because our room was booked. They helped us move and we were given full breakfast even though the app only listed 2 plus 1 extra bed. The guy helped us a lot, even wrote down recommendations for tourist attractions and places to eat in Solo. He explained at length, even alternative transportation in this high season atmosphere. When we were about to go home, he gave us bread for breakfast (because the train was early, we wouldn't have time for breakfast). Thank you very much. God willing, the next time we go to Solo, we will definitely stay here again.

When staying at establishments like the Horison Aziza Solo or Petit Boutique Hotel, guests are expected to adhere to general hotel etiquette. This includes respecting quiet hours, being mindful of noise levels, and treating hotel property with care. Photography within private hotel rooms or during specific cultural performances might be restricted, so it's always wise to inquire beforehand. In public spaces, while generally relaxed, maintaining a respectful attitude towards local customs, such as not walking in front of people praying, is appreciated and demonstrates cultural sensitivity.

Pasar Kliwon is generally a safe destination for international travellers, but like any urban area, it’s wise to take standard precautions. Keep your valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded markets like Klewer Market. For transportation, utilizing reputable ride-hailing apps such as Grab is recommended for safety and transparent pricing. While petty theft can occur, serious crime is rare. Having a basic understanding of local emergency numbers and ensuring your mobile phone is equipped with offline maps and translation apps can provide an added layer of security and convenience.

For Filipino travellers, it's important to know that the nearest Philippine Embassy is located in Jakarta, which is a significant distance from Pasar Kliwon. It's advisable to have contact information for the embassy and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in case of emergencies. While Indonesia has a generally good healthcare system, travel insurance is highly recommended to cover any unforeseen medical expenses. Familiarizing yourself with basic health precautions, such as ensuring food is cooked thoroughly and drinking bottled water, will contribute to a healthy and enjoyable trip to Pasar Kliwon.

The total travel time can range from 8 to 15 hours, depending on the layover duration. Flights to Surakarta, the nearest major city to Pasar Kliwon, usually land at Adisumarmo International Airport (SOC). Navigating Pasar Kliwon and its surrounding areas is relatively straightforward, with several transportation options available. Local buses and 'angkot' (minibuses) offer the most economical way to travel, though they can be crowded and routes may be confusing for first-time visitors. Taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab are widely available and provide a more comfortable and direct means of transport. For exploring within specific neighbourhoods like Kauman or Kedung Lumbu, walking is often the best way to discover lesser-known destinations and soak in the local atmosphere.

The best time to visit Pasar Kliwon is generally during the dry season, from May to September. During these months, the weather is typically sunny and less humid, making it ideal for outdoor exploration of historical sites and markets. While this period can be considered peak season, especially around local holidays, prices for accommodation and flights remain relatively affordable compared to other international destinations. Visiting during the shoulder months of April or October can offer a good balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds, providing a more relaxed experience.

Visa Information for Indonesia

For Philippine passport holders planning a visit to Indonesia to explore Pasar Kliwon, understanding the visa requirements is a crucial first step. As of current regulations, Filipino citizens are generally granted visa-free entry into Indonesia for short stays, typically up to 30 days. This allows for convenient travel for tourism purposes. It is essential to ensure your passport has at least six months of validity remaining from your intended date of entry into Indonesia and that you have proof of onward travel, such as a return flight ticket.

The application process for visa-free entry is straightforward upon arrival at Indonesian immigration checkpoints, including Adisumarmo International Airport (SOC). You will be asked to present your passport and may need to provide details about your itinerary, including your intended stay in Pasar Kliwon and your accommodation bookings. While no visa fee is charged for this visa-free facility, it is always prudent to confirm the latest regulations with the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines before your departure, as policies can be subject to change.

While visa-free entry is a significant convenience, it is imperative for all travellers to verify the most current visa policies directly with Indonesia's official immigration authorities or the Indonesian Embassy in the Philippines prior to booking any flights. This confirmation ensures you are aware of any potential changes in regulations, required documentation, or permitted lengths of stay. Confirming your entry requirements in advance will help guarantee a smooth and hassle-free journey to Pasar Kliwon and other destinations within Indonesia.
