The hotel is large and very clean. The staff provide polite and impressive service. There are plenty of facilities available inside the building. The room size is suitable for two guests. The room is decorated in a minimalist style, creating a simple and comfortable atmosphere, and it also offers a nice outside view. The housekeeping staff do an excellent job of keeping the room clean. If I have the chance, I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

Unforgettable stay we had at Centara Grand Hotel Osaka! The location is just next to Namba Parks Mall, you can even easily go to the Mall from the 2nd floor. The hotel also offers TukTuk ride to Namba station, my son LOVES it, especially having Andy (the super kind and friendly concierge guy of the Hotel) to ride him there! The room is very clean, and as we chose the corner premium room, we got fabulous view to the parks! For sure we will definitely go back and stay at Centara Grand Hotel Osaka next time we go to Osaka!

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! Hotel Universal Port truly exceeded my expectations. The facilities were excellent, and the room was incredibly spacious, clean, and smelled great. I also appreciated the thoughtful layout—the toilet was separated from the shower area, which added extra convenience. Amenities provided were more than sufficient. The hotel is clearly designed with USJ visitors in mind, as the checkout time is very considerate—you can check out at 11 AM, which makes a big difference after a long day at the park. My room had a harbor view, which was lovely, but next time I visit USJ, I’d love to stay in a room facing the USJ Park, especially because the evening sky looks stunning from that side. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Universal Studios Japan. I would definitely stay here again!

Osaka stands as a beacon of vibrant energy and unparalleled culinary delights, offering a distinct flavour of Japan that captivates international visitors. Similarly, the Holiday Inn OSAKA NAMBA by IHG provides a reliable and comfortable stay, placing guests within easy reach of the city's vibrant attractions. These hotels serve as excellent starting points for exploring the city, and with Traveloka, you can easily book hotel options that fit your budget and preferences.

And for those from African nations, Osaka's efficient public transport and welcoming atmosphere provide a comfortable entry point into Japan's fascinating culture.

Best Areas to Stay in Osaka

Osaka is a city of distinct districts, each offering a unique atmosphere and a different set of experiences for international visitors. Choosing the right neighbourhood to stay in is crucial, as it will significantly shape your overall trip, influencing your access to attractions, dining, and the general vibe of your visit. From the electrifying energy of its entertainment hubs to the more tranquil residential areas, understanding these distinctions will help you find your perfect base in this dynamic Japanese metropolis.

Shinsaibashi

Shinsaibashi is the beating heart of Osaka's shopping and entertainment scene, a district that truly comes alive after dark. For international travellers, especially those from the Philippines and other parts of Southeast Asia, its vibrant atmosphere, endless retail therapy, and dazzling neon lights offer a familiar yet distinctly Japanese excitement. It's a place where you can easily spend days exploring department stores, trendy boutiques, and quirky souvenir shops, all while being immersed in a lively urban buzz that never seems to sleep.

This area is a gateway to Osaka's most iconic sights, with Dotonbori's famous Glico Running Man sign just a short stroll away. You'll find an incredible concentration of restaurants serving everything from local takoyaki to international cuisine. Getting to Shinsaibashi is straightforward, with direct subway lines connecting it to major transport hubs like Osaka Station and Namba Station, making it an accessible base for exploring the wider Kansai region. For those eager to dive into Osaka's attractions, you can easily book attractions nearby.

Namba

Namba is synonymous with Osaka's energetic spirit, a district that embodies the city's reputation as Japan's kitchen and entertainment capital. It's a place where the sensory overload is part of the charm, with towering billboards, bustling crowds, and the irresistible aroma of street food filling the air. For travellers seeking a dynamic and immersive experience, Namba offers an unparalleled glimpse into the lively side of Japanese urban life, making it a favourite for those who want to be in the thick of the action.

Beyond the iconic Dotonbori canal, Namba is a rich collection of culinary delights, from traditional Osaka specialties like okonomiyaki and kushikatsu to hidden izakayas and themed cafes. It's also a major transportation hub, providing excellent access to Universal Studios Japan and other popular destinations via the Nankai Line and various subway lines. This connectivity makes Namba an excellent choice for travellers who want to explore both within the city and venture further afield.

Umeda

Umeda, often referred to as Osaka's northern gateway, is the city's primary business and commercial district, characterized by its impressive skyscrapers, upscale department stores, and sophisticated dining scene. For international visitors, particularly those from Europe and North America, Umeda offers a more polished and modern Japanese experience, blending high-end shopping with excellent transport links and a refined atmosphere. It's a district that appeals to travellers who appreciate efficiency, luxury, and a well-organized urban environment.

Home to Osaka Station City, a massive complex featuring numerous shops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities, Umeda is a hub of activity. The Umeda Sky Building offers panoramic city views, while the district boasts a wide array of dining options, from Michelin-starred restaurants to chic cafes. Its convenient location as a major Shinkansen (bullet train) station makes it an ideal base for day trips to Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe, offering convenience for those looking to explore beyond Osaka.

Konohana

Konohana, particularly the Osaka Bay area, is most famously known as the home of Universal Studios Japan (USJ), making it a prime destination for families and theme park enthusiasts. This district offers a different pace from the bustling city centre, focusing on entertainment and leisure. For travellers with children or those seeking a dose of thrilling rides and immersive themed worlds, Konohana provides a concentrated dose of fun and excitement, with many hotels catering specifically to USJ visitors.

Beyond the theme park, the Osaka Bay area offers attractions like the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, one of Japan's most spectacular aquariums, and the Tempozan Ferris Wheel, providing stunning views of the bay. Getting to Konohana is convenient via the JR Yumesaki Line, which directly serves Universal City Station. This area is perfect for travellers who prioritize entertainment and are looking for a resort-like experience within the city, especially those travelling with families.

Yodogawa

Yodogawa, particularly the Shin-Osaka area, serves as a crucial gateway for travellers arriving via the Shinkansen bullet train, making it a highly convenient base for those planning extensive travel within Japan. While it might lack the immediate tourist buzz of Namba or Shinsaibashi, Yodogawa offers a more relaxed, business-oriented atmosphere with excellent connectivity. It's an area that appeals to pragmatic travellers who prioritize efficient transit and comfortable, modern accommodations.

The main draw of Yodogawa is its proximity to Shin-Osaka Station, a major hub for bullet trains connecting to Tokyo, Kyoto, and other major cities. This makes it an ideal location for travellers who plan to take multiple day trips or move between cities frequently. While dining and shopping options are more subdued compared to other districts, there are still plenty of restaurants and amenities catering to business travellers and locals, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay.
