The location is very strategic, close to New Lane Hawker (just a short walk), close to entertainment like plazas/malls, and close to hospitals. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, and you can request free plastic bowls and cutlery. The rooms are also clean and odor-free.

Important Note

As announced by Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Tourism Tax is imposed starting 1 January 2023 for all hotel guests that are non-Malaysian or non-permanent Residents of Malaysia. Please expect that hotel will collect the Tourism Tax from you during check-in at the hotel. The Tourism Tax rate is 10 RM per room per night.

General Check-in Instructions

- Effective from June 1, 2014, the City Council of Penang will impose a Local Council Tax of MYR 3 per room per night for 4 and 5-star hotels, and MYR 2 per room per night for 0 to 3-star hotels. The star rating will be in accordance to the rating from Local Council and should the rating differ from the website, the local council rating will apply. This fee is payable directly to the hotel upon check-in and is not included in the room rate and taxes stated herein. - With effect from 01 September 2017, with reference to the Law of Malaysia Act 791, Tourism Act 2017, hotel guests who are non-Malaysian or non-Permanent Resident of Malaysia, are committed to a Tourism Tax of MYR 10.00 nett per room night of stay as determined and imposed by the Malaysian Government, which is not included in the reservation and will be collected by the hotel upon check in. This is to be applied in-addition to existing fees/taxes levied and the existing local tourism fee in Penang. - Effective 01 September 2018, rates are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) subject to 6% service tax, the Local Government Fee of RM3 per room per night for a 4-star hotel respectively, and prevailing service charge at 10%. Additionally, the RM10.00 Tourism Tax (TTx) will be imposed on all hotel room rates on a per room per night basis to all non-Malaysian guest. - Sun cafe will be operating from 6.30 am to 4.00 pm from 28 Feb 2020 till further notice. Our room service remains available all day long.

THE HOTEL IS VERY GOOD BUT UNFORTUNATELY MY DAD FALLED IN THE BATHROOM AND COULDN'T WALK WITH ONE BODY.... PLEASE NOTE IF YOU SEE SOMEONE BRINGING A WHEEL CHAIR, PLEASE PREPARE ANTI-SLIP IN THE BATHROOM. LUCKY MY DAD DIDN'T PASS AWAY.

I absolutely love staying at this hotel. Every time I visit Penang, I always stay here. The rooms are spacious, the access is easy, and most importantly, there's a food court just steps away, so you never have to worry about going hungry.

Near New Lane Street Food... but not all the food is delicious... San Cafe Char Kue Teoy Penang is delicious... For stalls that don't have prices, ask first before ordering so you don't pay too much... Good location... in the middle of town, close to everywhere... easy to find food... Busy from afternoon to night... Nice hotel... clean... but not soundproof... people walking in the hallway and talking can be heard...
