Beautiful grand old hotel.the staff were incredibly helpful and the concierge was always at hand to guide you in the right direction. My room was stunning and had a lovely canal view. Breakfast buffet was very good and had some healthy options, but the best part of the hotel was the wellness spa and the warm pool that made you feel you were under the nights sky. Highly recommend. However, please note the restaurant is closed (although there are bar snacks) and a few elevators weren’t working when I was there.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was beautiful, featuring grand windows and electric curtains that added a luxurious touch. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower room was excellent, stocked with generous-sized bottles of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. The only small downside was that the tea bags weren’t great and there was no milk provided in the room. The staff were polite and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of options including smoked salmon, avocado, fresh pastries, a full English breakfast, juices, prosecco, and fresh fruits — something for everyone. The spa facilities were lovely overall. Although we were disappointed that the steam room was out of order and the jacuzzi could have been a bit hotter, the pool was great and the two saunas were excellent. The location is perfect — just minutes from Central Station and surrounded by lively restaurants and bars. We would certainly stay here again.

Cool historic hotel in a good location, but was missing key amenities. First, there was no elevator to the ground floor/basement where my room was. Second, when I called for room service, I was informed they could only provide drinks as the kitchen was being renovated. But when I walked by the restaurant upstairs, it seemed people were being served food. Lastly, loud jackhammer noise was outside my room in the morning starting at 8 AM, which I thought was maybe from the kitchen "renovations."

A thin veneer of professionalism upon arrival and downhill from there. This is a 5-star hotel , with a 5-star price so details do matter. Mini fridge full of capped bottles, no bottle opener. Staff talking over me when I’m trying to answer their question. Room layout not great. Windows have signs on them that say that they open… they don’t. Can’t reduce the temperature less than 20.5c, windows won’t open, and very hot room. Positive: restaurant on site very good with excellent service.

Great location -7 mins walk from the train station and located in the right place for exploring.Ate in the hotel restaurant one evening , again good food and beautiful decor.

Honestly, I will never return to this hotel. Booked this hotel mainly for the enticing photos of their wellness centre. However when I actually went to this wellness centre the steam room was out of order and there was work men using loud tools doing works in the wellness centre. The room service was not at all up to the standards I expected. All they did was came and cleaned the bed to a minimum.. didn’t refill tissue or take the rubbish.. My main issue was that the check in for this hotel was slightly late and I enquired several times before hand if I could check in early at a fee however it was not possible which is something I find disappointing coming from a 5* hotel…. The hotel requires a lot of walking to get to some rooms… not the best atmosphere… I wouldn’t return back to this hotel
