The breakfast menu was fresh. A bit expensive but to be expected at this place. We had a junior suite and it was excellent. Lots room and seating area. Staff was very courteous and helpful. In Old Town Amsterdam and close to everything. Will definitely stay here again when going thru Amsterdam!

A well-appointed luxury stay in a beautifully maintained historical building only a short walk from the central train station. Even before we arrived the staff reached out to inquire after special requests. Our room was ample size and the perfect mix of modern renovation and historic charm. Thanks to the welcoming and professional staff for a wonderful experience.

The hotel is in a great location. Spacious, clean, old school elegance, friendly staff and delicious breakfast. However I wasn't notified ahead of time that the pool and hot tub would be closed for my entire stay. That was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. I asked for compensation and the front desk just said he will put the request through to his manager but I have not heard back. I would have stayed at a far less expensive hotel had I known about the restricted amenities.

A 5 star hotel should not ask you for 225 euros on your credit card in case you broke or stole something. If it must do that as a matter of policy it certainly should not pay the money into its account as it does and then return it to you 3 days later. In the meantime the conversion rate could have gone down.I know of no other 5 star hotel which behaves like this and I would not stay there again for that reason since it is already an expensive hotel. The nightly turn down service was also haphazard. It was done on 2 nights but not on the other two nights.

A beautiful old Hotel in the city center. Staff wonderful, room small but clean, complementary drinks in the mini bar. All was great til we went to use the Spa we had booked to use. Out of Order! But could use one at another hotel...7 min walk! Not impressed. Was offered a complementary wine for compensation. Enough? Not really. Did get a 10% discount which to us was an appropriate gesture.. We weren't the only couple unhappy. Staff did deal with us in an appropriate way and did apologize, and with a little compensation we were satisfied. Again ,all the staff were very friendly and we Would stay again, but check to see if the Spa area is functional

This hotel should not be a 5 star hotel. Here are some of the reasons why…..It took them until 4:45 pm to clean our rooms even though I told them we had left the room at 11 am. The hair dryer didn’t work and I asked for a replacement, but it never came. When I asked for change at the bar they said they didn’t have any. When I then told them I couldn’t leave a tip, they miraculously found change. We asked for an early check in the day before, but they said nothing was available when we arrived at 12 noon. The spa area was nice, but there was no place to change except in a small bathroom. Finally there was no concierge available on Sunday.

The wellness area was a great advantage to our stay. Location was very good as walkable from the train station and to the heart of the city. Lots of food options nearby. I would not recommend eating at the restaurant, over priced and our dinner came out with 2 of the 3 items lukewarm to cold. Enjoyed our time in the bar. No A/C both days. Reported on day 1, was to be fixed day 2. Did not happen. On check in asked about a cab reservation for our departure. Prefaced this with it will be Kings Day. I was told no problem we will arrange this. Checked at desk day before departure on our cab and was told that it was not possible, all roads will be blocked. I will have to say that our stay was terrible! No A/C and no cab. No offer by management to comp room, offer a free meal or even a free bar beverage. Not happy.

If you’re heading to Amsterdam and want a stay that feels equal parts luxury and “how is this even real,” the Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam absolutely delivers. The rooms are gorgeous—like, ridiculously over-the-top in the best way. High ceilings, rich details, and yes… those cozy robes that make it way too easy to cancel plans and just live your best spa-life indoors. Speaking of which, having access to the spa whenever you want? Game changer. It turns your whole trip into this relaxed, floaty experience where you can explore the city and then melt back into calm whenever you need. But honestly, what makes this place stand out is the staff. They don’t just check you in and out—they make you feel genuinely taken care of, like you’re not just another booking. It’s warm, welcoming, and effortless in a way that’s hard to find. Between the stunning rooms, the chill-anytime spa vibes, and a team that makes you feel right at home, this hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s part of the reason you’ll fall in love with Amsterdam.

Beautiful spacious room and bathroom. We absolutely loved this hotel! Breakfast had something for every diet and taste! We also had dinner at the hotel one night which was excellent as well. Perfect location and pool sauna gym also wonderful! Look no further!

Not happy.

Hotel Amrâth was the perfect hotel for a first stay in Amsterdam! It is in an excellent location since it is within walking distance of Central Station and many of the key sites and shopping areas. The hotel was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here!
