The location was ideal and in walking distance from everything. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best we’ve ever had at a hotel, lots of variety and choice. We also appreciated that the hotel provided free water and soft drinks. Only negative was that the rooms are not air conditioned. The hotel provided portable fans but not the same as having AC. We would definitely stay here again but not during the hot months.

We loved our 4 days at the Amrath. The entire staff were absolutely wonderful, polite, friendly and very helpful. The food and service was first class, marvellous! The room was a bit too warm but nothing we couldn’t handle. Thank you for making us feel like we were your most important guests!

Everything was great except the WiFi. Did not reach the 4th floor very well. It was clean, suites were spacious, and overall stay was great.

About 10 minutes walk from main train station. Friendly helpful staff. Swimming pool and gym area in basement. Convenient with walking distance to many restaurants and interesting locations. Spacious room. Bed okay, hot water pressure okay. Toilet door not lockable in room. Big desk, perfect for work with laptop. Slow elevator. A bit Pricey as many other hotels in Amsterdam. I guess you pay for the location.

Older hotels but very nice location. Rated cleanliness, location, well-maintained, etc., accordingly. Check-in process had some miscommunication, but overall, a great hotel.

We loved our 4 days at the Amrath. The entire staff were absolutely wonderful, polite, friendly and very helpful. The food and service was first class, marvellous! The room was a bit too warm but nothing we couldn’t handle. Thank you for making us feel like we were your most important guests!

We stayed at the hotel last year and had a wonderful, spacious room with canal view. This year, I booked a regular room and was disappointed as soon as I opened the curtain to a view of vents and walls. The pool and hottub were both out of order, which is disappointing when you boik a5-star hotel and really look forward to a spa day. The staff was very nice, and I would recommend the restaurant. The Amrath is very conveniently located, 2 blocks away from Centraal and 3 blocks from the Red Light District. I would stay here again but book a room with a canal view.

I booked last minute for the tail end of a working week in Amsterdam. We were assigned a room in the basement - the layout was a bit inefficient but this did not bother us. What did was that communication was really poor - the request of some ice (repeated for the second day of our stay) for our in-room drinks took 3 attempts and resulted in 1 glass full rather than a bucket like the day before. We also did not have any cleaning services during our stay in spite of our multiple requests, so had to clean glasses and coffee cups by ourselves. One evening we ventured into the spa, 2 hrs before closing time. The other guests were so loud that I had to tell them off a couple of times. There was (little) water in the water cooler but no glasses left, so ppl were drinking directly from the spout (!). finally, none doing any checks, and mountains of towels used and discarded everywhere. To be honest, I will continue appreciating the Amrath building from the outside (Amsterdamse School architecture at its finest) but will not repeat the experience any time soon. There is surely better in Amsterdam.

Expedia advertizes that all taxes are included, so it was a definite disappointment to pay and additional $30 per night in taxes upon arrival. Expedia is pretty good, but just as disengenuous as most online businesses. The night desk clerk was much more interested in upselling us an unwanted and expensive breakfeast add-on than in assisting us with getting our bags to the room. Fortunately, another staffer was more on the ball. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were all out of order. The older converted historic building was a very special place to stay, and conveniently located near the train station.

Wonderful historical building and a national landmark. Great option for history and architectural enthusiasts. The public areas are dramatic and stunning and would be impossible to replicate today. Staff were great and very helpful. Nice breakfast buffet with many choices and great eggs to order like Eggs Benedict or Florentine. As a former office building, the layout and rooms are quirky. Definitely request a room in the main building. The hotel rooms are spread out over several old buildings and we had one that was the absolute farthest from the entrance. To get to it was a maze of corridors, stairs and then an elevator. The room itself was great with views over the back canal, but it sure was a trek. Hotel is convenient and a short walk to the central station and old city center. There are more central hotels if you want everything right outside your doorstep.

About 10 minutes walk from main train station. Friendly helpful staff. Swimming pool and gym area in basement. Convenient with walking distance to many restaurants and interesting locations. Spacious room. Bed okay, hot water pressure okay. Toilet door not lockable in room. Big desk, perfect for work with laptop. Slow elevator. A bit Pricey as many other hotels in Amsterdam. I guess you pay for the location.

The location was ideal and in walking distance from everything. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best we’ve ever had at a hotel, lots of variety and choice.
