The best aspect of this hotel is its friendly staff and of course the pool. The food is also affordable and almost everything that you need is already here. So it's a really good place to relax after traveling for hours just to reach Pagudpud.
The hotel is really outdated the lights in the room was very dim when we checked in there was no towels and robes even the blankets when we requested they told us the bed sheets was the blanket. Also the bed sheets was really old there are a lot of holes, ripped. The flush in the toilet bowl was not working properly even the shower head was broken. The place also was far from the tourists attractions and there we're no restaurants or stores nearby. The complimentary breakfast also doesn't tastes good with limited choices. The only thing that we enjoyed was the beachfront other than that we will not go back again on this hotel.
We were not able to stay at west gate. When we called them to tell that we are on the way. They said that they were already fully booked and they cannot accommodate us. Bad customer service.
Room is not clean, there’s a big cockroach just as we entered the room. Bathroom is not well lighted, bath towels have unpleasant stains and the bedsheets felt like it is already used. Unapproachable and not accommodation staffs and most of all I booked a room with cabled tv which we can’t use.
The hotel is far from downtown so if you need to buy something or go to the city center, you have to pay P15 for the tricycle ride going to downtown and when coming back, drivers will charge you anywhere from P50 to P80. The aircon remote did not work at first so they need to replace it. My room was located near the area where there is noise from a machine (for the electricity or the pool). Wifi is spotty and my calls are chappy inside the room. Breakfast is so-so although the staff was accommodating enough of my breakfast request. The front desk staff needs to be also knowledgeable and helpful when guests will ask them what transportation should we ride if we want to go further north to Pagudpud and which is fastest (van or bus).
Had a nice stay at this hotel, with its spacious rooms and well-appointed interiors. The bathroom was clean with functioning hot/cold shower. Admittedly having a gas station in front was a bit distracting but you immediately get over it once you're inside. The gasoline smell does not last as well. Food was good and reasonably priced. Small but well-maintained pool. Another plus was allowing us to have early check-in and late checkout. Gym was ok but some equipment need servicing and maybe a little bit more ventilation in the area. Would suggest to put in a ramp though if an elevator is not possible.
The hotel is best for staycation and when you want to reflect without disturbance from gadgets of any form. First, it is located near the far end of Blue Lagoon area and second, the wifi is so very spotty and the cable channels were nil so I was forced to watch my own movie using the USB port of the TV. The staff were accommodating and even upgraded my room during the 2nd and 3rd day of my stay since I complained of the hot air coming from the aircon of the first room assigned to me. The only funny thing is that even if the room is good for two, there is only one cup/saucer but two glasses (at my first room) and there is only one glass but two cups/saucers (at the upgraded room). The food is kinda pricey (almost equivalent to Manila prices) and the taste not so extraordinary. Their free breakfast tasted bland so I did not bother to avail of it on my last day.
