One bedroom apartment on second floor was fairly clean and tidy, seemed dusty and could do with a deep carpet clean. A/C worked well. Some dishes and cutlery were put away dirty and a cockroach was enjoying the kitchen cupboards. Loads of kitchen supplies and plenty of wardrobe space. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable, it was a little hard for us but slept well. View from the balcony was lovely and very spacious. Quiet location on a busy street with an array of food choices right at the doorstep. Great to have an indoor pool during the cooler days but enjoyed outside one as well. Good definitely outweighed the bad, highly recommend and would stay again!

Pro's: Ease of check-in and friendly reception (prebooked and paid via wotif.com). One parking space included in the fee. Perfect location for conferences at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. Location. Location. Location. Restaurants and beach close by. Rm 2403 on 4th floor in July. Fully self-contained. Room much larger than expected. Three balconies- 1 from master double bedroom, 1 from living area, small one off single bed 'extra room'. Foxtel tv, free WiFi. Shower had excellent water pressure, tho water leaked a little too readily outside the glass screen/door. Super comfortable bedding. Reverse cycle air-conditioning in bedroom and main lounge area. Overhead fan in bedroom (excellent for menopausal ladies at 3am!) Overall, a pleasant stay. Con's: In-house toiletries included a tiny sample sized bottle of shampoo and conditioner (I brought my own), one small square of soap, and a tiny packet of pocket tissues. These days, one would expect eco-friendly wall mounted bulk containers of body wash, shampoo /conditioner +/- body moisturiser. A BOX of tissues would be nice. Sachets of instant coffee & black tea provided, but howzabout some herbal tea options? The main bedroom side tables, lamp and remote controls had a layer of dust and some stray black hairs (eeeuuuww). Saturday night sounds of 'drag racing', sirens and a soft 'doof doof' from a night club close by kept me awake until the late hours, tho' it IS the GC.. In sum, I would return. Just a little more prepared.

The location for what we required was perfect and the size of the apartment was great, I particularly liked the comfortable bed. However, there were no instructions on how to use anything nor any information about things around the area we could do and see. The ladies at reception were very friendly and nice however we had to ask all the time about specifics and the info was a little underwhelming and we had to write it all down ourselves. The WIFI did not work in the apartment and we had to work out how to watch the tv ourselves. The kitchen was great and there was plenty of dinnerware and cutlery etc but there was not enough coffee/sugar for three people nor were we given more than one little soap each for the bathroom, I hadn't brought any body soap so had to use the little square from the basin to use in the shower. The balcony was very tight and not very inviting. Overall it was a nice stay but little extra care could have made it feel a lot nicer!

We are returning guests, therefore love the property and its location. We had a 1 bedroom on the top floor, and were lucky to have various beach glimpses thru the buildings, sadly new construction at Neicon will cut that off on one side in the future. Our favourite pastime is sitting on the balcony people and car watching. This last unit we were in, was a bit of an odd layout and smaller than others we had been in, but, it was clean and comfortable. This trip we had bad rainy weather so didn't even use the indoor pool, but, as I said we've been here before, and it's always well maintained. Lifts were fast, reception are great, parking is easy and so are the walks to wherever you want to go. Even an easy walk to Pacific Fair and we are in our mid 70's. Tram out front. The Phoenician has it all.

I've been coming to this hotel since I was a child, (30 odd years ago), so I have fond memories of family holidays here and other than a brief pause over COVID, I've come at least once a year with my young family. This time felt a bit different though. While they do a great job of maintaining the massive building and surrounds, this grand old lady is showing her age. Rooms have always been dependent on the owners investment and while my (connecting) room wasn't in bad shape, it is my experience that there has been a general decline in standard and quality over recent years. Water damaged ceilings, kickboards peeling, walls patched and barely painted, original appliances in the kitchen, beds with little to no support. Cleanliness has also been an issue in the last few stays, I found a lot of head hair around the apartment, food under couches, lipstick on drinking glasses, etc and two cockroaches along with a blocked vanity sink (which was promptly resolved with reported). For the first time ever, we also had a sub-optimal interaction with one of the receptionists, no big deal, just not what it used to be. I think what struck me this time is that to accept the declining standard you really need to lean into the "value" of large, self-contained units with great proximity to Broadbeach. I fear the decline in quality is starting to outpace the "value" proposition with better options, e.g. similar vintage, size, newer fit-out and ocean views for same / similar money.

Our apartment had such a comfortable bed. Other than that it was extremely disappointing. We booked a 4 star apartment that certainly wasn’t 4 Star. It was very worn, dirty and neglected. All the door, window, wardrobe and shower tracks were filthy. The balcony furniture was weather beaten and old. So much more we could say. No comparison to other 4 star apartments we have stayed in.
