This hotel is a dream. You can feel you are in the middle of a Sanctuary full of animals as if you were leaving in a Safari. The food, the views and the possibility to have access to the zoo. The staff was absolutely great with us. They gave us a beautiful gift because of my husbands birthday that made our experience unique. The only "bad" thing was a lady of the staff that was host in the restaurant. She didn't have patience with us as a non english native speakers

The staff at the retreat were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The room itself could have been cleaner, and it felt a bit run‑down with marks, scratches, stains, and general wear and tear that hadn’t been fixed. We had dinner at the Me‑Gal Restaurant and everything we ordered was delicious. Our waitress, Iman, was lovely, and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. The buffet breakfast, however, wasn’t as good and the staff there weren’t as friendly, though it was still fine overall. We had a good time, and we would stay here again.

Staying at Taronga Zoo was a whole experience. The ferry from Circular Quay, being met at the entry to the lobby with spectacular views to the CBD including Opera House and Harbour Bridge, to the beautifully appointed comfortable rooms with a koala cocooned in the tree outside the window, to the drinks on the deck, the personalised small group zoo entry tour, the best risotto I have ever eaten at the spectacular restaurant, a delicious buffet breakfast with a novel churro treat and 24 hour access to the zoo. I am an Aussie from WA and would recommend this for both locals and international tourist. It was fabulous!!

At 2:20pm on 8/4/26, I parked my car briefly at the roundabout as there were no other available parking spaces. I went inside to collect my luggage. About a minute later, while I was loading my bags into the car and was about 20 seconds away from leaving, a gentleman(Staff?) in a white van began honking at me. He said my car was blocking his entry to the retreat and demanded that I move immediately. His reaction was quite shocking and frustrating.
