Wildlife Retreat at Taronga

This was the most amazing hotel! There was a koala right outside our room. The hotel was easy to access by ferry and bus. We LOVED it.

A unique experience staying inside the zoo. Free zoo access, VIP access to the animal refuge (with guide) and special night tour of zoo, amazing view of Sydney, excellent breakfast buffet, and a koala bear nested just out of arms reach of my open window. Highlight of our week in Sydney.

The property is wonderful. The rooms are well appointed and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. The location of the property makes a zoo visit exceptionally easy.

Love the view and convenience of the zoo. Disappointed with food and dinning options. Breakfast was a let down. The best staff was andrew the tour guy. He was friendly and very knowledgeable.

My teenage daughter and I stayed in an animal view room. We were in room 144 which is the koala block. We had trees outside our room but didn't see our resident koala from our room during our stay. We did get some great photos during the complimentary sanctuary tour The hotel is described as a luxury boutique eco retreat. I wouldn't say it's a 5 star standard. The staff were attentive, friendly and approachable. The view from the N'gurra lounge/reception of the bridge and skyline is amazing. We were on a ground floor room, the room was basically equipped with a king bed, 2 arm chairs and a small end table. The tv had included movies or free to air but no ability to cast or stream. The bed was comfortable, a pillow menu would be appreciated Our room was equipped as accessible and while that is a great feature to have available for guests who require it, the shower was a nightmare. The bathroom layout was toilet in the corner (with rails), vanity along the wall with a single sink and a shower in the other corner with a shower curtain. The floor doesn't have sufficient slope so the whole floor gets wet. There was a Hand-held shower and a rainwater head and a fold down bench if required. We opted to do the night tour of the zoo at $25pp excellent and well worth it. Buffet breakfasf was great and included, parking and zoo admission. One off unique expereience

His early such an amazing place to stay. Views straight into animal enclosures opening up the window to amazing sounds of birds and seals in the morning. Every interaction with stuff members were so pleasant and they were all incredibly helpful.

Booked this on a whim but was more than impressed with everything. Exceptional customer service across the board. Will definitely return!

Property was beautiful. Rooms were great. We had a bush room and could see kangaroos. Breakfast was delicious and had beautiful views. Awesome to get zoo for two days and parking with a night stay. We did the morning private tour, which was really worth it. Only downside is restaurant and even light fare in the lobby very highly priced—even for kids meal. We left the resort and went into Mosman for dinner.

Brilliant stay. Luxurious and stunning location. The night tour by Will the Ranger was also fabulous.

Very nice

Had a very wonderful stay. Even though we got the bush view room, we were able to see some kangaroos outside our window! Parking was easy. Service was amazing, you can tell everyone is passionate about contributing at the zoo. Breakfast buffet was limited but delicious. Shower pressure was a bit weak tho.

The best place I’ve ever stayed. Loved it as an adult and the kids were blown away! Have stayed in Sydney many times and loved being this side of the harbour without even taking into account the awesomeness of being in the retreat surrounded by animals. I highly recommend!

Best decision to stay here! The property and experience was fantastic.

Our room overlooked a koala habitat!!! This unique property is part of the Taranga Zoo, so if you are an animal fan, you will have an amazing experience. The breakfast is second to none. What I didn't like: shower floors very slippery and there are no hand holds anywhere in the bathroom. This is probably important only for those of guests that are more mature, but in my view simple and low cost enhancements would make it much better.

The hotel stay and views of the harbour were excellent.
