The room was very nice and comfortable. The room was cleaned and made up while we went for breakfast. The Hotel staff were very polite and efficient. The only problem I had was my inability to communicate in Portuguese. But I was still able to communicate. They had an abundance of a breakfast buffet on the 3rd floor. A variety of Fruits cut up nicely, replenished regularly. There was an item for everyone's liking. Complimentary Beach chairs and towels at the Wave Restaurant at the beach were available from 8 am to 6 pm, which was very nice. The 30th floor (Roof top) had a Solrium, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a sauna, and babysitting services. It had a wonderful view of the Sea and the Copacabana Beach. These were all included in the reasonable room price. Were there for 10 days with my granddaughter, and we enjoyed our stay.

Cold pool Cold jacuzzi Old amenities They describe the property with beautiful pictures but the real Bedrooms are old, dirty carpets, terrible bathrooms with rusty and mold. Definitely will not come back until they update the rooms.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Rio Othon Palace has an iconic location right on Copacabana Beach, and it’s hard to beat the views and convenience. The rooftop and the position of the hotel are its biggest strengths. However, the property feels dated and could benefit from a major renovation. Some areas are clearly showing their age, the service is average rather than exceptional, and the room layout feels old-fashioned and not very practical by today’s standards. Overall, if location is your priority, it’s a good choice. But if you’re looking for a modern luxury hotel, there are probably better options in Rio.

Good: location and views. Bad: poor condition of the property. We stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, it does not meet 4-star standards in its current condition. In my opinion, it is closer to a 3-star property. Our room had several maintenance issues. The entrance door had a visible wall crack, and multiple electrical outlets were loose and needed repair. We also did not have consistent hot water during our stay, which was very inconvenient. In addition, the air conditioning system was leaking from the ceiling, which made the room uncomfortable leading to mold on the ceiling. Overall, the room felt poorly maintained and in need of significant renovation. It seems like the property may have been a 4-star hotel in the past, but that is no longer the case today. On a positive note, the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. However, I was very disappointed with the condition of the room. I would also advise future guests not to be misled by the photos online. The pool is very small, and the “jacuzzi” is not a real hot tub—it is simply part of the pool with cold water.

For over 15 years, I have been using the Rio Othon Palace 2x-3x per year. It is at a great location with many great restaurants, centrally located, shopping galoreand transportation options abound. The hotel has a great recently renovated rooftop with one of the best views of Rio's Copacabana Beach. The staff is very friendly and carries the typical 'carioca' hospitality. Awesome spot!

They offered us an upgrade at check-in and we took the upgrade. They told us we would have a nicer view. The view was nice but everything else that’s included in the upgrade is not worth the money. The better breakfast is a lie. The breakfast is the same. The view from the normal breakfast is better than the view from the upgraded breakfast.

I love this place . 2nd time staying and both times have been wonderful . The rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable I almost have a hard time getting out of it hehe. The views are amazing from the rooftop bar and restaurant. Overall amazing and helpful staff and an amazing property . Rio Othon will always be my go-to hotel when I’m in Rio

They advertise a balcony with the room! It's a 2 ft ledge you can barely stand on! You also get a kettle for hot water but no cups etc. The pictures and description of the rooms were very deceiving considering the price. The room was not very clean and had mold in the shower. Our first room didn't have a working tv and was smaller then what was advertised so they moved us! Second room wasn't much better! They did fix the fact we had no not water! The breakfast was big but not very inviting! Most of the front desk employees were very helpful. But when we arrived with our luggage (2 women over 65!) The guy at the door just stood there as we struggled to get our suitcases up the side ramp! We should of left then!
