Great and affordable stay! Conveniently located near Mile End tube station so it’s easy to get around from there. Friendly staff too! Keep in mind that this is on top of a bar so if there’s a football game night or something you might want to sleep with earplugs if you’re a fragile sleeper since there might be a tiny bit of noise from there. Thanks to the Cherry, big recommend!

Stayed for the night as we were going to see Take That at London Stadium, which was within walking distance. Staff were friendly, room was just what we needed for the night and we were grateful for the aircon and got a perfect nights sleep. Would visit again, thank you.

Extremely noisy and unable to sleep until well past 23.30 hrs when the bar shut. Even after that, water noises and pipes rattling. The location was good for our purpose of visit and rooms were decent with tea/coffee and a good size towel provided. Aside from the noise, the lack of Reception staff and communication between management and Reception/cleaning staff needs to drastically improve! My daughter,a student in London, stayed the night before we arrived and arranged WITH MANAGEMENT via email to have a late checkout and leave her case in our room. The reception/cleaning staff were obviously not informed of this, and harassed her til she left the room. She then had to travel back to her student accommodation a couple of miles away then back to Queen Mary's University for her graduation ceremony. She was hot, 31°C and stressed out on the last important day of her young life due to management not passing instructions on to Reception/cleaners! Very unhappy with this situation and would have told a manager this,, but none there from 7.00 pm til the next morning when left accommodation. Definitely would not use this hotel again! Not in this lifetime.

We only stayed one night at The Cherry. It suited our budget and was a short bus trip away from the ABBA VOYAGE arena. The tube connection was just down the road, so getting around the city was straightforward. The Cherry is a quirky pub. Its an old building so some things are forgiving and add character. Ge young man that greeted us, was 100% polite, friendly, professional and allowed us to enter our room early to freshen up. The stairway to the rooms had a fire escape feel. Carpeted, but bland and functionable. Although small, our room had what looked like a brand new bed with built-in side shelves, sockets with USB charger, which was a god send as I'd forgotten my plug! ..with reading lights. The carpet also looked quite new. There was also an airconditioning unit...also grateful for this! The thing that let it down a little for us was that among all the new things, there was a tatty cupboard for the tea&coffee..and hairdryer. The window had blown. This was covered with a cheap blind. The dark green paint was peeling off the windowsill and the skirting was thick with dust. No hooks or rail on the wall to hang anything. The shower room was the smallest space. With a basin set in the top of the cistern. The shower cubicle was however, a good double size with nice wash & hair products. There was a hook on the inside of the showroom door for a towel..but nowhere to hang a second wet towel to dry if a couple were staying an extra night. All in all, it suited our needs

Cheap and cheerful room with great aircon. Extremely well situated for the Mile.End tube station, local shops or the nearest KFC or Wetherspoons id that takes your fancy. The room is just above the Cherry pub and absolutely no noise heard from the revellers. Would definately stop here again as so handy for trips into London, access to the London Olympic Stadium or the ABBA experience.

Great stay for the price. Super close to tube station and close to shops and takeaways. Staff were nice and check in and out was super easy. Room had air conditioning which worked well, and basic amenities but no fridge. Water, coffee and tea provided in the room. The pub downstairs is also nice, and closed at 11:30pm even on a Friday night. It was a tad noisy with the pub and the train nearby but I didn’t mind. For a hotel above a pub, the noise was not bad at all. My main complaints were that the pillows were ridiculously uncomfortable, and the room was a bit dirty in nooks and crannies. However we had a good stay over all, if you’re looking for a bed while travelling around london, this is a great option - especially for the price!

In all honesty this place was NOT what I was expecting! Our room was tiny - I had to squeeze past the TV to get to my side of the bed. Nowhere to put ANYTHING! Very dark room - one frosted tiny window which couldn’t open (not that I wanted to in the heat) so no view whatsoever. Aircon was average but did take the edge off these hot days. Bathroom very small - sink was at the rear of the toilet so again, not easy to access and made water go over the toilet. There was just about room to balance your toothbrush by the sink. Just felt overall very dated and tatty and there were constant noises within the room (air-con?, bathroom fan and a random noise every few minutes!) The smell on the stairs leading to the rooms was disgusting - a cross between a dirty rabbit hutch and a sanitary bin! It did us for 2 nights but would not book again.

The room was clean & the staff were lovely. The only thing I would say that wasn’t so good that knocked the score down was the exactor fan in the bathroom was coming off the ceiling & the drainage in the shower wasn’t so good. The first water was pooling at the other end of the shower to where the drain was.

I’d recommend this hotel with a couple of caveats and if you’re ok with them then go for it. The location is good (a few mins walk from Mile End tube) good nearby eateries (Nandos, Subway, Coop local) to get a meal or snack from. Rooms are clean and the bed is super comfortable even in the single room. The bottled water in the room is a nice touch. Just be prepared that it won’t feel like a hotel chain, hotel is a bit dated rooms are small, and are over a pub so it’s noisy until about 2330 and has a different vibe. All that said, I’d definitely stay there again. It’s well priced compared to other similar standard hotels in the area 👍

Very nice and good location not far from Mile End tube station in the East End of London. Friendly staff. It is a bar but it is very quiet in the rooms. Small but cosy. My second stay here and price is reasonable

Great pub underneath with super friendly and helpful staff, happy to put Rugby on for us and added bonus if staying discounted drinks. Room was clean, bed was comfy and shower was great. Secondary glassing meant that even sat night was quiet and no noise heard from the pub either. Seemed to have a leak in hallway but didnt impact out stay and they were addressing. Tube close by and park, free parking at weekends 17 min walk away which was great. Would stay again

I'd stay there again, but a mixed experience... I'll start with some big pluses. Convenient, short walk from the Mile End tube station; an easy spot while in London for biz. A very pleasant walkable neighborhood; shops, restaurants, and a large parks/gardens. The hotel sits on the site of a historic hotel with a19th Century Garden, a popular destination at the time. The adjacent Regents Canal (with narrow boats and hand oprated locks) path and park makes for nice strolls. The rooms are over a lively pub, but no noise issues. The rooms a are bit small, but "space capsuling" is fairly normal for rooms in this price range in larger cities. The toilet, directly in front of the sink, was a stretch (pun intened). The otherwise modern shower was stuck at the hottest setting, the knob did nothing. I had to get creative with a jug and do camping washes. Otherwise clean and comfortable. I wonder if the rooms are an afterthought for the pub, and hotel guests are somewhat of an annoyance. Example: this is the only hotel, in decades of travel in 30+ countries that refused to hold a bag until checkin time. I pondered, that surely the staff, who kept me outside the door in the rain, was instructed not to come up with solutions, or didn't care. Whatever. An odd mix, but overall decent for the price. Also, try the Smoke End steakhouse nearby... a hidden gem
